I have to admit, flowers just aren't my thing!!!

I love them but know nothing about them, so am feeling a little lost.

I don't know what is a reasonable price for flowers, so was hoping some of you wouldn't mind sharing what you purchased for your big day, and what it cost you.

At the moment, I was quoted $740 for
1x Teardrop bridal
4x Posy bridesmaid
7x Buttonholes
2x Corsages

I don't know what a good price is, as I've received quotes $400-1000 for the same items!!!

Can anyone help????????

I received quotes from $600 to $1250 for the smae thing (just over 4 years ago)

I ended up going with a quote for $650.

1x Bridal teardrop bouquet all pink roses
3 x BM Bouquets all pink roses
I think 7 or 9 boutonierres (pink roses)
And two massive dispays for the church. And would you believe, not a single photo of them But they were aobut a metre high, pink roses in keeping with the theme and lots of foliage.

The $650 included delivery to where I was getting ready and to the church.

Your quote sounds reasonable, considering my wedding was over 4 years ago.

I just booked my florist. I will be having roses or lillies and orchids, and for $630 I will be getting:

1 teardrop bouquet
3 BM posy's
2 FG miniposy's
7 buttonholes
2 MOB corsages

I think you got quoted a good price.

Mine is $ 230.00 which includes:
- Teardrop bouquet
- 4 x single gerbera with greenery and ribbony stuff (I don't know how to describe it properly)
- 4 x buttonhole for groomsman
- Buttonhole for groom, but fancier than groomsman
- Basket with assorted silk flowers for the flower girl to throw and play with

Mine were $446, for a large, wired shower of lillies, orchids and tropical foliage (see sig), 2 large natural stemmed posies of lillies and orchids, 4 corsages, 9 (+ 1 spare) buttonholes, and throw-away posy.

Mine was around $320 (I think) and I received:

*one large bridal posie of cream and pink roses (wired)
*two BM posies of cream and pink roses
*6 button holes
*4 corsages
*1 hair wired flower

Cost was around $740.00 i think. I got;

1 x bride bouquet of roses and orchids
3 x bridesmaid boquets of roses and orchids
7 x buttonholes orchids for 4 of them and roses for 3 of them
3 x crosages orchids
Throw away for free
Delivery as well

I paid more then what I thought but orchids were not cheap so I had to pay it.

My budget was around 700, I'm paying almost $1000

I ended up doing some more research and met with another few florists. I also changed my flowers, so needed to get quotes redone. I ended up booking my florist and for $681 I'm getting

My bouquet (a teardrop)
4x BM bouquets (posy style)
7x buttonholes
2x wrist corsages
1 bag of rose petals
11 stems of Singapore orchids for centrepieces (may change these to roses?)
Delivery to 2 separate locations

Flowers are now Peony Rose flowers and buds, some standard Roses, Lisianthus, bud-tipped Freesias and Singapore Orchids.

I got a fantastic deal!! The lady at my son's school is a florist and was just so helpful.

We are getting -

1 x Bridal bouquet 50 claret Roses with diamontes throughout finished off with white silk wrap
6 x BM bouquets of 40 white roses finished with Claret Silk

1 x groom Button
6 x groomsmen Buttons
2x jnr groomsmen buttons
2x fathers buttons

For $620.00 Thats less trhen 1/2 of my allowed budget for flowers so that was wonderful!

We paid $650 for my bouquet, 3 BM flowers, rose petals for 12 tables, 7 button holes, 3 coursage for the mothers of the bride and groom.

We negoiated our prices with everything and changed packages around to suit us. We were very happy in the end how everything turned out

Mine was $480. I had tulips.

1 x Bridal Posy 40 stems
4 x Bridesmaid Posies 25 stems each
1 x Rose button hole (for dad)
3 x Rose corsages

I paid $500 for 3 BM bouquets & 1 brides bouquet
My florist was too exy for the rest so mum sourced $15 corsages and $10 buttonholes from her local shopping centre florist. No body even noticed they were from different florists and my dad picked them up on the morning of the wedding on his way to my house.

Sometimes it pays to shop around a bit

from recollection, button holes were the cheapest for us at under $15 each..

Corsages were next most expensive at circa $35-$45 depending on the flowers used.

My MOH had phal orchids and a relatively detailed bouquet which I think was circa $150 and I think my tear drop of phal orchids was about $250

So think it probably varies massively depending on the type of flowers being used, complexity of making the bouquets etc.
