Hi Ladies,

I am trying to find specific thank you poems for my bridesmaid who is my cousin (age 16) and for my junior bridesmaid (age 10) who is my sister in law.

I have been searching on google for the past 2 1/2 hours and have had enough!!! mad.gif

Can someone (who is an expert in using google or is very creative) please find me two poems that I can use.

This is the one (I think) I will use for my Maid of Honour (twin sister)

As Maid of Honor you must know
Your place inside my heart,
Since on the day that I will wed,
You'll play a special part.
When I am walking down the aisle
A very happy bride,
It means so very much to me
To have you by my side.
And, if upon my wedding day
Tears in your eyes I see,
It shows how much you mean to me
So do not think that things will change
Because I'll be a wife.
You'll always hold a special place
Of honor in my life.

You are my sister,
And, it's time for me to say
You mean so much to me.
I'll treasure all the memories
Of growing up with you,
For sisters form a lasting bond
That's tested, tried and true.
And, now that I'm about to wed,
Becoming Matty's wife,
Dear Sister you will always be
Important in my life.
I love you.

Thanks in advance.

Jess.

I'm with Tas - if you've already got the words to the poem, what are you searching for? Are you wanting to find out who wrote the poem? I think you're asking for poems that are similar for your other bridesmaids, is that correct? Are you wanting poems to ask them to be your bridesmaids or are you wanting thank you poems?

What words are you using in your search? There's lots of returns for bridesmaid poems and poems for bridesmaids.

For example, google returned these results to me:

(Optional Phrase Above Name)
(Bridesmaid's Name)

You've been such
an important part of my life
that I could not imagine this happy day
without you by my side
lending your love and support.

Thank you for being a very
special part of our wedding day.

(Closing Phrase)
Your Name(s)

-----

Title (Example: To My Bridesmaid)
(Name)

Thank you for being such an important
part of our wedding day.
It means so much to me to have you by my side.
You make a happy time even happier
with your help and support.

Closing (Example: Love, Katie
Jack & Katie's Wedding Day - May 26th)

-----

To: My Bridesmaid
And My Friend

Today I wed the one I love,
And life won't be the same.
But still I know you're there for me
If I should call your name.

You've been the best friend you could be
And always shown you cared.
And I will treasure evermore
Adventures we have shared.

I'm thankful I can count on you,
For all the things you do.
And I'm so glad that I can say,
I have a friend like you.

We know not what the future holds,
And we may have to part.
But you will always be with me,
Forever in my heart.

To My Bridesmaid
To My Bridesmaid
I chose you as my bridesmaid
To share my Wedding Day
You've been just like a sister
A friend in every way.

When I look through the pictures
Of My Wedding Day to see
There's no one else I'd rather have
Standing there with me.

Sorry girls, late at night blush.gif

It is thank you poems that I am after - not asking them to be my bridesmaid.

I want to find poems that specifically refer to them as my cousin and my sister in law.

I don't want to use the same one as my sister's one and not as long.

Because they are younger, I want something nice and light and thanking them for being there for me on the day.

Everything that I managed to find seems too indepth and just doesn't sound right.

ETA: I like the first one Vik - I think I might be able to adapt it for my cousin.

Cheers

Tas - I tried to come up with something on my own but my creative words just aren't coming together today laugh.gif

Here's what I came up with:

For my cousin:

I chose you as my bridesmaid
To share my Wedding Day
You've been just like a sister
A friend in every way.
When I look through the pictures
Of My Wedding Day to see
There's no one else I'd rather have
Standing there with me.
Thank you for being such an important
part of our wedding day.
It means so much to me to have you by my side.
You make a happy time even happier
with your help and support.

For my Junior Bridesmaid/sister in law

You are my Junior Bridesmaid, I chose you right away,
I knew you'd be perfect and would make complete my day!
As I watch you walk down the aisle slowly ahead of me,
I think of all the times we've spent alone, just you and me.
You are still young and this I know, Please always hold me dear,
If ever you need a helping hand Or just a listening ear.
I will always be there and support all you choose to do.

(want to put another line in here to rhyme with 'do' but can't think of anything that fits)

The day that I marry, our families will blend,
you'll be my sister and also my friend.
It's so very special to know you will be,
a part of this day, a junior bridesmaid for me.
It's just the beginning, of our brand new life,
as your brother and I, become man and wife.
You've been such an important part of my life
that I could not imagine this happy day
Without you by my side lending your love and support.
Thank you for being a very special part of our wedding day.

I ended up going a bit more indepth with my SIL because I want her to know that she can come to me if she has any problems as she grows up. (I have been with H2B since she was 3 so we are pretty close)

Do you ladies have any ideas for the middle line???

Thanks for all your help.

wow - nice to do that for your bridesmaids.

A little too cheesy (as in too pretty) for me.

I'll have a look around to see if there is anything else around. But with my experience, your own words will mean more to people that you know. They will read a card or a note and say "this totally isn't x". Speak from the heart. It'll mean more...

Sorry - better clarify.

Would love to say that they were my own words but they're not.

I ended up having better luck on google after a days break. blush.gif

They were a couple that I put together.

Luckily for me though, they are exactly what I wanted to say.

I had hoped to be able to come up with it myself but I have already written a couple of poems for other various things associated with the wedding and my words just weren't coming together. blush.gif

I ended up taking out the line "I will always be there and support all you choose to do." It sounded finished without it and I couldn't for the life of me think up another line.

Thanks Beth for your view - Lucky for me - these poems are exactly what they would expect me to say - I get a bit cheesy sometimes laugh.gif
