~Emma~
Morning!!
How is all the mummies today? It is horrible weatehr today, was rainign all night, its not raining now, but its overcast and everything is wet.
We're going to the baby clinic today, hopefully to get Sophie weighed and talk about the issues i'm having. I'm concerned about her weight gain. Last she was weighed last week she was 4.75kg, a GF of mine had a bub 1 month after Soph and was born lighter than her, and is over 5kg already... She doesn't look starved or small.. I think a change in formula will be best and like Toffee said the normal not the gold.. Scott will be furious, cause i just bought 3 tins the other day when they were on special.. oh well!!

I'm starting to think about work cause im just so lonely and bored at home, and i fear that if i leave it too long i'll end up with PND. As Soph gets a bit older, i;m sure visiting will become easier, but now, she just sleeps pretty much still, and i'm relunctant to mess up her sleeping.

Alana - are you going back full-time? is Ry going everyday with you?

So i got some prune juice and have diluted it down, i have tried a few times to give it to her, and she isn't keen, can i pop some in her bottles so she gets used to the taste? or put some formua in with it so its a familar taste? I have decided against using coloxyl as it can apparently make the bowel lazy needing help all along for #2's, so yesterday i used another suppostrie and had another explodo, so now i'll just see if she can do one on her own, now that she is defintally empty..

What is everyone else plans today?
_Alana_
no im not going back full time, only 3 days and only 8hrs ( i was doing 11 - so 8 is great!) Ry will be coming 2 days with me and one day with my mum.

if you want to go to work, then you should! dont feel guilty for sophie it will better that you are happy than stuck at home with pnd. i was sad that i was going back to work as i love being at home but when i went to pink last week some girls from work i really enjoyed catching up on the goss and being with them - i missed them as they are really good friends so having a few days home and then a few days at work i think will really work for me.

have you started a mothers group? maybe that will help fill up a day?

can you take the tins back? if there not open i dont see why not. or maybe try selling them on here or on ebay?

we are doing much here today just a relax day. might go for a walk this afternoon. was meant to start a diet yesterday - OH put a box of open pizza shapes next to me for entertainment and would giggle everytime i ate them until the box was finished ph34r.gif wacko.gif .

oh the cutest thing just happened!! im feeding ry while typing and he is falling asleep while feeding getting ready for his morning sleep and i did a huge sneeze - it scared the hell out of him, he jumped and ripped of the boob, tucked his bottom lip under and started whimpering it was so cute wub.gif i kissed him to make it better and he bursted out into a huge smile and giggled!

~Emma~
I don't feel guilty about going back to work, She will be left with family only, as my work is rotatiing, not the same each week, so daycare would be pointless.
Sophie is still sleeping!! YAY!!! after she wakes, i'm goign to feed and change then head into town for a little while! i might buy some new clothes, and maybe get a baby bjorn carrier.. I'm thinking the synergy.. I wanted to get the ergo, but no one stocks them locally, and i really want to try befoe i buy..

Rochelle - i want to get Sophies ears pierced, but no where down here will do them so young. Im sure up in Warrawong there is places that will do them, ant recomendations??
rikkijack
Emma I feel for you and Sophie, my eldest Taylor had alot of constipation problems when I put her on formula. I tried everything like you, coloxyl drops, brown sugar and warm water, prune juice. I used that many different formulas until I found the right one. Taylor is nearly 12 now but the formula I used for her was called SMA. I dont know if it is still around. I wish I could give you a answer but Taylor had problems until she was around 3. I ended up putting her on something called parachoc when she was 18 months old. It is really scary using all this stuff as I was warned about the lazy bowel aswell. In the end it sorted itself out as she got older.

I am going back to work when Paige is 6 months old (thats when I will stop BF) so around September. I only work two days a week as I job share. I love my job and I am looking forward to going back, but at the moment I am so busy with these kids while guy is at work I haven't even thought about work!

I would love to do a Sydney meet, I am in Wollongong (near where Emma lives) so it will be a bit of a hike. It would be great if we could meet somewhere in the middle.

The weather is bad here today, Rhianna is getting a bit of cabin fever. Ive got Playgroup tomorrow so hopefully not raining then.

Emma you must have been posting the same time as me

I have an ergo you can come and try mine out if you like. I got mine from Babies Galore at Warrawong.

I'm not sure about the ear piercing thing, I dont have Rhianna done yet, and I got Taylor done when she was 18 months old at the chemist in Shellharbour Square. She let them close up and when she was 8 I got them done again at a Hairdresser in Oak Flats. Ill ask around for you.

Sarah Kate
I was also going to suggest a mother's group or even playgroup in your area Emma. They are a godsend and it's wonderful to meet new people and go through the ups and downs of babies together. Might be worth checking it out or asking your health nurse.

We had a horror day/night with Nathan. We all have colds and he has so much phlem the poor kid and is having trouble bringing it up. He is also vomitting a lot more than usual because of the extra phlem so isn't happy. And getting him to sleep, well I don't know why I am even bothering....this will pass, this will pass..
AK2
Emma- i think it's great you want to go back to work! smile.gif Hopefully you can work out something that gets you out of the house and some good time with Soph too!

SK- fingers crossed that the fussiness passes really soon..poor thing.

I was all prepared today to move William into his own room...so i moved all of the furniture around in the nursery to make room for a cot, and then pushed it all the way from our room into his...and what do you know, the door frame into his room isn't big enough for it to fit through! Grrr...we have double doors into our room, so i never even thought about it not fitting through a normal door.

That means i'm going to have to wait for DH to come home and take it all apart for me. That halts my fantastic plans for today!
_Alana_
Busty - sorry but i did LOL! Hope he has a good night in his room!

Well Ry woke from his morning sleep - screaming ! not just crying for food like normal ( he would have no way been hungry anyway) but full screaming, holding his breath kind! I never seen this behaviour before - he only cries for food!! So it lasted for almost two hours! OH went to work late because he was worried about Ry. Well i think i can say - he got my little upset tummy i had yesterday. I was holding him trying to comfort him and his belly started making really loud noises and then the gastro started! Ive never seen so much poo in a nappy before! I had to wash him under the shower ohmy.gif . He is one happy little bub giggling on the floor again! It certainly would have empty him out. Poor little thing!

I take my hate of to you toffee and emma! I only had him crying for almost two hours - i dont know how you cope all day and night! You are both doing a fantastic job - more than you realise!
Nyree
Alana, good news that Ry is feeling better. Would not have been nice to have him screaming in pain for 2 hours.

Butsy, bummer about the cot! When we got Madison's we had to put it together in her room and then pull it apart when we moved.

SK, hope Nathan is feeling better soon.

Emma, I love my Ergo! Too bad you haven't come accross one to try it on.

Holiday is still going well. My cousin did my nails for me this morning (she has her own shop) and this afternoon we are heading out to do some visiting. Can't wait to get home though... I love my mattress and I hate living out of a suitcase.
~Emma~
looks like we found the prob, BBL to update, Sophie needs feeding
~Emma~
ok, i'm back

it seems as though Karicare is in the process of updating their GOLD 1 to GOLD +
When i 1st went to formula, i got the GOLD + (the new one) then when hubby bought more, he got the GOLD 1. The dfference with them is the new one has prebiotics, which is to make bowel movements easier... When i think back she was fine when we 1st switched, it has only been since she was on the GOLD 1, so we have got some of the new GOLD + and i;m hoping to see an improemnt
Monica
Good that you have discovered the problem Emma.
How big was Sophie born? Did you weigh her today?
I think Nina is roughly around 5.7kg
~Emma~
She was born 3.9kg, and now weighs 5.45kg she is 8 weeks on thrusday. They didnt measure her, but i did on the weekend and she was 65cm
Monica
That's excellent
~Emma~
After having 2 bottles of the right formula, she has done a poo on her own!!! YAY!!!! I was asleep in bed and Scott wasyelling out to me, i thought something was wrong, he was just excited!!! hehe
_Alana_
Emma - im glad things look like they are sorted out - i hope sophie keeps going well now on the first formula. It must be hard. I thought it was as simple as picking one and feeding it to them rolleyes.gif .

What is everyone up today?
I have to go to a funeral this morning, Ry is going to work with OH ( My OH is soooo excited lol) and than i will pick him up and take him with me to the wake.

Other than that no real news to tell.

Sydney mums - can we agree on the 18th july? What do we want to do? a picnic and pram walk in darling harbour?
nep are you in?
~Emma~
What about a weekday since we're mostly still on maternity leave?
Weekends i tend to keep Sophie home so Scott can spend some time with her smile.gif

Today, my plans are HOME DAY!! wednesday has great telly, so i tend to hang around, plus Scotts parents have been away since befoe the long weekend, and are coming home today, so im going to be cooking dinner cause all they want to do it see Sophie. She has changed alot in those 2 weeks...
I took a few pics yesterday, will upload them shortly smile.gif

IPB Image
_Alana_

Summa
Just letting you know I am still here. We move out next week so I am going to be busy. And I have been working every day in the afternoons, to be honest I don't want to do it anymore. Lil is really unsettled when I pick her up every afternoon. Once we get moved in hubby said I can quit and just stay at home.
**Bee**
Hi girls. Hope you are all having a nice day. I have been busy busy thismorning. Cleaned the house and than had to go to the shops to get some money out and get some things for dinner. Im making a nice meatball bake biggrin.gif Cant wait!

Nyree - Good to hear that you are having a good time away. I got my nails done yesterday too smile.gif

Emma - Good to hear you have hopefully sorted out why Sophie has been upset biggrin.gif Thats great news. I would have been excited when she did a poo on her own too laugh.gif The things we get excited about when being parents rolleyes.gif Sophie is beautiful BTW wub.gif

Summa goodluck with the move. Hope everything goes well.

We are all going good hear. Chelsea is good. Still being a great lil girl for us. Breanna has her moments. Today she has been good. She scared the hell outta me today at the shops. When I got to the car I put her in the seat and clipped it up and went to put the pram in the car and when I looked up she was in the drivers seat ohmy.gif The little minx unclipped herself wacko.gif

Well I must hop off because Breanna is telling me to get off Dads computer dry.gif
~Emma~
Cheeky Breanna!!!

We must be on a cooking day today, i decided i'm goign to make some spinich and ricotta canneloni for tea tonight, and cause hubby won't eat it, he can have one of the lasagnas i made last week and froze..
**Bee**
yum your dinner sounds divine Emma smile.gif

I finally got Chelseas birth certificate today!!!! biggrin.gif
~Emma~
I just came in to post the exact same thing Bee!!

Just turned up!!! I can't stop looking at it wub.gif laugh.gif ph34r.gif
**Bee**
laugh.gif wow! there ya go! Did you get a special one as well as the standard?? You got yours really quickly. I went mine away when she was like a week old.
Sarah Kate
Can I come to your house for dinner Emma laugh.gif

We got Nathan's BC ages ago but its the boring standard. Am thinking of getting a pretty one for both of them and frame it with a photo. Not sure yet.

Just picked Emma up from her grandparents after spending the morning with them. Cam dropped her off on the way to work so I got a lovely sleep in. Suffering from a wonderful headcold so it was nice to stay in bed for a few hours.
~Emma~
we ust got the standard normal one.. no need for a commerative one atm, maybe get one when we need/want it smile.gif

SK - you can come for dinner anytime !!!

Grandparents are great huh!!! My mum is desperate to have Soph on sat, but i'm relunctant, i'm goging out to dinner with friends on sat night and if she is unsettled scott will ring me to come home and i don't want to... how selfish does that sound sad.gif
AK2
Only just here quickly, because we are having people over for dinner and i'm flat out today, but i wanted to share this exciting milestone with you guys.

William just rolled over for the first time!!!

He was having tummy time on his mat, and getting a little frustrated (he can normally only handle about 5-10 minutes at a time), and i thought to myself 'Okay, i'll have to flip him onto his back soon'...and what do you know, he flipped himself over!

He looked a little confused at first, but then smiled and seemed very proud of himself once i started kissing and smiling and praising him for all his good efforts.

Now just to start keeping a better eye on him in the bed, change table, couch...it's just the beginning now!
Nyree
Butsy, that's great that William rolled over! I remember Madison rolled when she was exactly 4 months old.

Emma, great news that you found the reason for the pain.

Not much news here... Alan is being cute as and still sleeping great smile.gif
~Emma~
we have had an absolute dream day here!!
Sohie has been draining her bottles, and settling back t sleep right after with very little fuss!! I'm hoping that this is the problem and that we're not going to slip back to what we were going thru last week.
I'm also very glad i didn't have to switch between many different formulas smile.gif
Sarah Kate
WHOO HOO William! wub.gif

Emma, your dinner is depressing me. All we are having is spag bowl. Tried to convince hubby that take away Thai is the way to go, he wants spag bowl.

I DON'T WANT SPAG BOWL sad.gif dry.gif
~Emma~
I'm not a spag bol fan either... But it is super easy to mae!!

you need to get your martha out and do some cooking tongue.gif laugh.gif

Yesterday we packed up the bassinette and returned it to my Aunty, today we returned the rocking chair to BIL, so Sophies tiny room in;t so crowded now. It means we can leave her play mat and rocker out, and its not such a tast to unpack them when we want to use them!!!

Im just waiting for hubby to get home, and then im going over to my mums to check on her dog and put ehr bins out, she had to travel to gosford for work. usually her dog comes here, but with Sophie and my 2 dogs already, it just owuld of been a nightmare!!

Speaking of dogs, do you all have pets? How have they been with the bubbas??
My 2 dogs have been my replacement babies for many years. The even sleep in the bed with hubby and i, and they have the same dinner as us pretty much every night (yes they are super spoilt) They are usually pretty good with he, they like to give her kisses, and when im talking to Soph they sometimes get a bit jealous and start pawing at her. I *usually* lock them outside when i'm feeding, just cuse they distract her. They have taken to digging mad.gif The other day they dug out at the back fence, and then i hear this pawing at the front door, The oldest one Bella, had run all the way around and knocked at the door for me to let her in. I couldn;t find molly in the back yard, then i went out the front started looking for her couldn't see her, then went back out th back yard and there she was crawling back in the hole they dug... Basiclly they are good with her, just need t get used to being outside a bit more without digging holes..
**Bee**

We only have 2 birds and a guinea pig so they prob dont even know Chelsea exists laugh.gif We got the Guinea pig for Breanna. She loves it wub.gif

Im going up to Pink in August and I was wondering if any of you Brisbane girls wanted to catch up maybe while Im up that way?? Would be lovely to meet some of you smile.gif
Sarah Kate
Well the spag bowl wasn't too bad. Chops and veggies tonight, a little bit of an improvement laugh.gif .

Am leaving shortly to take Nathan for his needles. I know I am going to be a mess!! I hate needles at the best of times.

Emma, could the dogs be digging because they are bored? Is it possible to go for a short walk with Sophie in the pram. That might help?. We have two cats who are wonderful with Emma, they love her to bits wub.gif but they aren't quite sure of Nathan yet rolleyes.gif
toffee
Emma that's great you found the solution to Sophie's problem. Glad to hear she's back to normal smile.gif

Wow Butsy that's fantastic! Go William biggrin.gif Blake hasn't rolled yet, kind of looks like he's thinking about it but he hasn't done it. I'm kind of enjoying it though knowing he's not mobile at all laugh.gif

I was just reading back on everyone's babie's weights. I seem to have a very tiny baby. Blake weighed 4.81kgs when i took him to Clinic on tuesday & he's 57cm tall. He seems a lot smaller than a lot our April babies but the clinic nurses assure me he's fine & healthy, he's just on the smaller side. He's only just gone into 000 in the last week or so.

we don't have any pets here - i wanted a puppy when we first got married but hubby said no. But now that i have my hands full with Blake, i'm fine with not having a puppy wink.gif

Blake's birth certificate arrived last week - we had posted it off when he was 2 weeks old so it did take a while! (We've got the standard one)

Re work, i've got 12 months off but if i want to go back earlier, i can give my boss a couple of weeks notice & he'll find me work to do. I'm considering going back in Nov part time, maybe just 1 day a week to start with. It will all depend on how we're going at the time. We seem to have enough $$ in the bank for me to have the full 12 months off which would mean i'd be due back in the office on the 1st March 2010. (Although the other half of me is considering taking the full 12 mths, just because there's not too many times in your life when work will let me have 12 months off & guarantee i have my job to come back to)

Nep, your trip must be soon, hope the packing is going well & you all have a great time smile.gif

~Emma~
Morning, So it seems we get her #2's under control and then the wind comes back. The nurse recomended we wean Sophie off the infacol at feed times, so yesterday we did every 2nd bottle only, and then today none. Her last 2 sleeps have been shocking, and this one now she was just screaming, so i picked her up, threw her over my shoulder, and a massive fart and a little burp, so i raised hr mattress with the phone book (hope we don't need it wink.gif ) and put her back and she hasnt screamed again yet. Im goign to keep using the infacol, alot of reading i've done on it doesn't indicate long term effects.

Soph is still yet to roll, she likes being on her back looking at the lights...hehe

spoke too soon sad.gif she is grunting away in there....
**Bee**
sad.gif poor lil Sophie. I hope her pains ease off. We have had Chelseas snuggle bed raised from the day we got home and she hasnt seemed to be to bad with pains so I think it does work. We just have a blanket folded underneath and it seems to do the trick wink.gif

Im getting some pink tickets tomorrow!!! I cant wait. Im not going until August tho so it gives me plenty of time to get Chelsea used to a bottle and if not Damian will be up there with me and he will just bring her over to the concert (not inside) for a feed. biggrin.gif
AK2
Goodafternoon everyone!

I've been fairly quiet for the last few days, we have family visiting at the moment so things are a little hetic.

William had an ultrasound on his private parts today to identify the cause of some swelling, turns out everything is okay and it should resolve itself in a few months time. Phew. There was some talk of surgery for a while there, so i'm glad that they've decided to wait it out for the moment.

He hasn't repeated his rolling over act yet, but i'm ready and waiting with the video camera now! tongue.gif

Emma, sounds like you are well on your way to working out the issues with Sophie. Hopefully it's all good soon, and that you get some well deserved rest!

Toffee- i'm with you on the pets basis. I begged and begged for a dog when we got married, but we lived in a unit so it wasn't practical. I got a baby instead! smile.gif

Youngone, an August meet in Brisbane sounds really good. I'm in! smile.gif Nyree? And P!nk tickets....i'm very very jealous. You are going to have the most awesome time.

SK, how did your needles go? I say your needles, because it's often a lot tougher on Mum that it is on Jnr! tongue.gif

Anyway, i'm off to give Will some afternoon tea, and then it's my turn to cook dinner....so i guess that's next on the adgenda!

P.S Wooo!! 50 pages! Congratulations to us!
Sarah Kate
I am staring to wonder if Nathan will do anything while he is on the floor apart from cry rolleyes.gif . He hates being down there. But I am getting heaps of smiles now so at least he is happy wub.gif . He had his needles today and I was a bigger baby than him. So proud of my little man wub.gif .

WHOO HOO about pink tickets YO. I would like to go see her but on the other hand, don't like her enough to go. I am going to Wicked here in Melbourne in a few weeks and then Hubby and I are seeing ACDC next Feb.

YAY for Williams nuts being ok tongue.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif !!!
Summa
Youngone, I went to Pink last Saturday night. I am not a big fan of hers but mum dragged me along and I will tell you she is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it is worth every cent!!

Sk, Lil is smiling heaps too. And she giggles in her sleep. I wonder what she dreams about...

Butsy, glad the ultrasound went well, what a releif!

Emma, sounds like you are onto it, hope everything settles down soon.

I think I read somehwere about a Brisbane meet, I am in!

Well we have got to do the groceries this morning and do some boring jobs for hubby. We just bought a business (installing roof insulation) and it is so stressful, so much paperwork to worry about. I have never run a business before, just done his books whilst he was subcontracting.

I have cut my days back so now I only work at real estate mon, wed and fri for 2.5 hours each arvo, although I may have to give this up soon if it all gets too much.

And on top of all this I have to start packing to move house next week!! Oh my god, so much to do!!!!
~Emma~
Good Morning

Summa - sounds like things are full-on for you at the moment!! A business... WOW.. hope that it goes well!

SK - good work mummy on the needles!!! i think once they hit toddlers needles become harder... is that true?

Butsy - glad the u/s was clear... For the moment your DH can just be proud of how big is son's balls are ohmy.gif tongue.gif When my nephew was born, my brother was telling everyone how big his were!!! LOL

Bee - you'll have a ball at PINK! when she was at the ARIA's that one song was awesome, i could imagine what an entire night will be like for her!

After a no sleep day yesterday she had a damn good night. W went to Scotts parents for dinner and she slept there laugh.gif tongue.gif They were a bit miffed that she was asleep, but i wasn't waking her after not sleeping all day!! turns out she just had a few naps and she got cuddles in between!
So we got home at 8.30pm, fed her, she was in bed by 9pm, and woke at 3am, then 7am, and she is now in bed talking to herself, she'll be asleep soon hopefully!!
I'm goign to the doctors this afternoon to get my stitches out and get the results of my mole.. Fingers crossed its all good, couldn't deal with anything else at the moment..

Thought i'd posta pic of Sophie on her tummy mat!! She isn't so sure of it at the moment, we only pulled it out the other day and are giving her about 2-3 gos a day for about 5mins each. We're going to slowly increase the time as she gets a bit better with it!
IPB Image

IPB Image

And this one, it was getting close to my neices bedtime, and cause she just wouldn't leave Sophie alone, i told her to get a blankie and pillow and she could sleep with Sophie wub.gif
IPB Image
Ofcourse, it didn't last very long, but thats 20month olds for ya tongue.gif
toffee
Butsy - glad to hear William's bits are all good smile.gif

summa, wow sounds like you've got your hands full there. good luck with the business, i hope it takes off for you & hubby. good luck with the move.

Emma, i found the infacol wasn't so great with Blake, if anything it made him bring up more of his feed, but if its working for you, that's great. the other thing you could maybe try is adding some thickener to her bottles when you prepare her formula? thickener has seemed to help Blake with bringing up his wind & he does proper burps now. But i know every baby is different so if the infacol is working for you, maybe don't bother trying the thickener....if its not broken don't fix it right?

Well i took Blake back to the GP yesterday & they seem to agree with me that he has reflux. the GP prescribed some Zantac syrup to give to him twice a day so we'll see how that goes. he's only started it last night so we'll see how he goes. My poor little munchkin, i hope this makes life easier for him.

*waves hello to everyone else*
rikkijack
I am so glad things may get better for little Blake! I hope you had a good night sleep last night too! Paige is still in 0000's and was 4.5kgs at 6 weeks, so she is only little aswell..I'm not surprised Rhianna is only very little she is nearly 3 and size 2 can be big on her..my niece is 18 months younger then her and is nearly the same size.

Emma Sophie is very cute, Ive never seen one of the tummy things. Good Luck with your results.

Summa you have got your hands full, don't over do it and make sure you make time for you! Good Luck with the business and with the move..I hate moving!

SK I think the needles are worse for us mummies then the babies! Im glad Nathan handled them well

Busty, scary William having to have an ultrasound! Great result in the end.

Not much to report here, its hubby birthday on Sunday..haven't even bought him a present yet, so thats my job today.

Have a great weekend everyone smile.gif

Monica
What an awful night.
Went to the shops yesterday and as per usual Nina slept the whole time in the pram.
It was my brother's birthday so we went out for dinner and she slept in the pram, only stirred a couple of times. I had a couple of drinks so gave her a bottle of EBM at 10pm and after some cuddles with Grandma and Pa, she was falling asleep in Pa's arms so I wrapped her and carried her home (we live on the same street). Well of course Daddy was home when we got home and all he wanted to do was play and talk to her which revved her up. He goes to sleep on the lounge (as he does when he has to work the next day) and I am in bed with her, wide awake at 4.30am!

Once he had finished playing with her I went to put her in the swing as this can sometimes make her drift off but he layed in to me saying it was a stimulator, not a soother and I was only using it as a baby sitter (is he around during the day when I have put her in it and she has drifted off to sleep 9 times out of 10?). He actually yelled at me and then said I don't know why I bother trying to discuss anything with you to which I replied "me either" and this just made him more angry so I closed the bathroom door and had a shower. I sent him a text when I got in to bed saying that he needed to get his anger in check and I won't have yelling around the baby. He didn't reply.

He came in to the room this morning to say goodbye to Nina and he looked at me as if he was waiting for me to say something but I didn't so he left without a word.

I am SO furious with him at the moment, we just cannot seem to get along.

I have to go in for day surgery next Thursday and wouldn't you think given what we went through giving birth the Nina that he might like to take the day off to a) look after Nina and cool.gif help me out after wards as I will be going under a general? Nope, didn't even offer so I have made other arrangements. As if I am not scared shitless enough of having another operation without having no support from him

Hello from a very stressed Mum here!

About a week ago, we got a call from DH's grandparents asking if they could come and visit. We are really eager to see them, and said it was all fine for them to come down for the weekend. No reference was given to where they were staying, but we figured that since we dont have a bed for them, and we've just moved house & had a baby, they would be getting a hotel or similar. In hindsight, we should have confirmed because-
MIL telephoned later in the week saying that because grandparents were coming to visit, she wanted to see them too, and wondering if she could stay with us. Thinking that it would just be one houseguest, we said okay.

Now, i've ended up with three houseguests- two in the guest room and one in William's nursery. I've got DH grandparents on an airmattress on the floor (aggh!) and i only have one queen quilt (on our bed) and one single bed quilt- so DH & I have given up our quilt and are using sleeping bags for the night.

I'm just stressed out of my head- at the end of last week, i had no idea that we were having ANY houseguests at all, and now i've ended up wth three. dry.gif

William is also playing up something shocking because he's not used to be kissed and cuddled every second of the day, and he has barely slept this morning. I'm going insane.

Will catch up on personals later, i just needed to vent...thanks for listening.

Monica - these fist months are very stressful on a marriage, and given your circumstances around Nina' birth, these would all be esculated. Have you tried talking to your hubby? telling him that you want him there next Thursday?? As for the arguement last night mad.gif he has no excuse, he should not of laid into you at all about that!!!! However you can get bubba to sleep at this age is the most approiate thing!! I think you need a day off, and leave him with Nina for a day, and we'll see who is begging to se the "stimulator" to get her to sleep!!!

Butsy - I can't believe people would just expect to stay without confirming. You as the "host" should of had to confirm, they were the ones visiting so rather than expecting they should of asked. Make it clear to them that next time, if they just let you know, you will be able to ensure there is enough beds and blankets wink.gif

Well, im about o hop into the shower, then whn Sophie wakes up, i'm dropping her at nanny and poppy's so i can go to the doctor! Wish me luck!

OMG what a busy nightmare!!! I hope the business takes off for you hon and everything else settles down soon. Good luck with the move. Wish I lived closer to help!

Aww how gorgeous is Sophie! And your niece is gorgeous. Good luck with your appointment at the Dr today. I am sure everything will be fine xo

I am so happy for your hon that your GP listened to your concerns. Most just dismiss it as being a "baby thing" and nothing more. I hope the Zantac works and in 24 hours you come back telling us Blake is a different baby!

Happy Birthday to your hubby! I hope you can find something today. I can never find the right present for my DH. He is such a pain in the arse to buy for!

I am so sorry you are going through this with your hubby. Can I tell him to put a sock in it? How is he to judge when he is not home during the day. I agree with Emma, let him have a go at looking after Nina on his own for 24hrs and see how he copes tongue.gif . I hope you guys can talk about it tonight and sort something out. When DH comes home late and Nathan is about to go to bed or is in bed, I tell him tough, suck it up and he will see him tomorrow or he can deal with the consequences! Is there someone who will be able to look after you after the surgery? Massive hugs babe xoxo

I am sorry you have to put up with 3 people. Is it possible for the three of them to stay at a local motel for the rest of the nights they are over? Surely it's not too late to book something. They can't expect this of you with a new born. And I totally get the playing up. Nathan is shocking after spending an afternoon with visitors. So when he is asleep now, if people come over, he stays in his room. Makes me a cruel heartless person apparently, but they can go get stuffed!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Catching up with old school friends tomorrow for coffee then on Sunday I am going to a GF's in the morning for a cuppa and cake. Emma is going to spend time wth her Daddy and I will have Nathan with me. It's also my mums birthday tomorrow so she is coming over for dinner. I am going to do marinated lamb shanks in the slow cooker....is it wrong that I want to eat them now!

Monica, you poor thing. Me and my hubby have been going through tough times too. They don't seem to understand that what they say and do upsets us greatly sometimes. It is such a big life adjustment and you just have to find some middleground somewhere. He sounds like my husband, quick to judge my actions and critical of them if they don't work as expected. God I hope this is making sense! It is just so frustrating I know. Hang in there.

Good luck Emma, ouch, I hate having stitches out!

Butsy, goodluck! I wouldn't be able to cope!!!!!

We had a morning of groceries and doing jobs. Trying to get Lil to have a nap before I am off to work. Bought her the cutest outfit yesterday, will have to post a pic later.
**Bee**

Mon - sorry to hear you had a bad night sad.gif dont we all hate them! I cant beleive hubby didnt offer to take the day off for your surgery dry.gif I hope everything goes ok darl sad.gif It must be very stressful for you. Can you take some time away before the surgery, to just relax and enjoy yourself?? Sounds like you need it.

Hello to everyone else I have missed too smile.gif

Well we spent the morning up at Damians Nans house with Breanna and Chelsea's lil cousin. Two 2 year olds under the same roof if crazy!!! wacko.gif I am glad to be in home with mine sound asleep laugh.gif She loved it though so thats good. Im not up to much the rest of the day. Going to get some movies for tonight when Damian gets home as he is off to a mates tonight but thats about it really. Nothing exciting.
Monica
To add further insult to injury, DH got sent home from work before the night shift last night as they weren't busy enough. Usually he would call and let me know he is on his way home. I was at Mum and Dad's and got no such call. I come home from Mum's last night at around 11.30 and he is passed out on the lounge. I asked him what time he got home and he couldn't remember, wtf?

So this morning he comes in to the bedroom as I was feeding and I asked him what time he got home, he said he went to the pub with a mate and got home around 8pm. I asked why he didn't ring me and he couldn't answer. We are also on a pretty tight budget for the next few weeks and he had $50 to last him for the next 4-5 days or so (totally doable) but now it's all gone!

He said he couldn't remember why we were fighting so I gladly refreshed his memory and told him his behaviour over the last week or so had been nothing short of a dictatorship and I won't have it any longer. He tried to cuddle and what not but I told him I was still VERY angry at him and we would talk more tomorrow. He did apologise profusely.

For god's sake. You wouldn't think the man is turning 35 in a couple of weeks
toffee
Butsy, good luck with the house guests....wow 3 unexpected guests at once, i wouldn't be happy either.

Oh Mon, i really feel for you hun, this mummy thing is tough enough without adding an unsupportive husband into the equation. I hope your little chat this morning has given him a bit of a reality check.

Emma, hope the drs went well, how did you go?

Rikki, hope you found a present for hubby.

So far things seem to be going well with Blake, he's only been on the medication for 2 days so i know its still early days but so far so good. He's slept well the last 2 nights & only gotten up once for a feed - even just 2 nights of better sleep is making me feel 20 times better. fingers crossed it continues.
~Emma~
Hi guys,

monica - I hope this mornings cht has made your husband realise. Fingers crossed tgings improve.

Toffee - thigs were all good at the docs!! but when i picked Sophie up from PIl my FIL recieved a phone call from his doc, he has to undergo chemotherapy for the melanome he had removed a few weeks back. Hubby is so upset about it.

Today, my mum and dad have got Sophie to give me a rest. My dad usually plays golf on sat mornings but he didn't today wub.gif So far i have done my groceries, and watched a movie, now i'm about to turn the heater on, get in my PJ's and close all the blinds and have a snooze ohmy.gif Mum wants to make it a regular saturday thing, i guess we'll see how she goes tonight, if it was too much stimulation for her.
