Happy Easter everyone!!
And Happy Bday Alan. Good luck with the party today Nyree, thinking of you!!
The Bunny came to Lily and hubby. Lil got a pretty easter basket full of new hairclips!! And hubby got lots of crunchie eggs. I even left a trail of little eggs from both of their presents to the window where he supposedly came in! I will have to post some pics later when I get a chance.
Not going to Seaworld today, hubby is busy putting up her new pink kitchen and tables and chairs for her bday tomorrow. I am cooking a fried rice and noodle salad for tomorrow. Plus trying to clean the house a bit.
Lana, sounds like Ry will get spoilt today!
Bee, I hope Chels is ok by tomorrow! We have a big day ahead of us!
Emma, took Lil ages to go down for her sleep this morning too, but she is finally asleep now. The phone woke her at 7am, my little sister calling to tell me the bunny had came to her too!
Mon, 2 steps!! That is great. I wouldn't tell hubby either, what a suprise!
Amy, that is a funky cake. Good luck with trying to make it. I would do what SK suggested.
Hi SK! I hope I haven't missed anyone.
I really should get dressed. I have so much to think about for tomorrow I am feeling a bit overwhelmed! I can't wait to pick her bday cake up, I hope it looks as good as the photo did.

I am happy to wait till everyone is one

Happy 1st Birthday Alan! I hope you have a wonderful time at your party. Nyree, well done on your first year!!!!
Summa, sounds like a busy day planned. I bet you're excited about tomorrow
Bee, I hope she is feeling better for her party tomorrow. I would say teeth, Nathan's poos are like that when he is teething.
Monica, we are holding off on tomatos because they are also considered a high allergy food and Emma has problems with them so I am not even going to consider them with Nathan. That doesn't mean Nina can't have them though
Emma, how is Sophie feeling?
Easter bunny didn't visit here. I don't see it as a gift giving holiday and the kids know no different. The grandparents got them a little something but they do that most times when they visit so Emma was none the wiser.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I was up with the boy from 12am till 3.30am so feeling a little tired today. And with DLS finished, makes me feel even worse I didn't get that extra hour sleep LOL
~Emma~
Apr 4 2010, 02:19 PM
I'm trying to have a sleep while bubby looks after Sophie and he is asleep on the lounge... Makes ne so angry!! I was the one up with her last night and then up early with her today yet he is the one sleeping :-( he also had a 3 hour skee yesterday aswell!!! Furious!!!
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY ALAN! Easter has been good. Quiet, but good. William didn't get any eggs from us and has so far only eaten about a 5c peice's worth of chocolate- mainly because I wasn't in the mood to deal with a sugar laden crazy child- that's a battle for his birthday! He seems to be teething at the moment, tooth five seems just about ready to pop it's head up.
Emma- Gah! I had a nap yesterday and thought DH was looking after Will, he thought I was....he ended up 'posting' toilet paper into the toilet and eating toothpaste

Men can be frustrating
Summa & Bee- hope the parties go well tomorrow! How was Alan's today, Nyree?
Monica- Will's been eating tomato since he was about 7 months old- I just dice it and he eats it straight off the highchair plate.
Bee & Emma- Will's been struggling with his morning nap as well. Noooo! I loved that nap! There goes my chance to eat breakfast, check my blogs and clean the kitchen

I've got a big Ikea trip planned for tomorrow along with a trip to Redcliffe with DH & DS. Should be a nice way to wrap up the long weekend.

Sophie has 2 of the big back teeth with another 2 about to pop thru in the next few days!!! That's 10 teeth now!!!

Happy Bday Chels and Lily!!
I have so much to do before the party in 2 hours!! Make up, pick up cake, help decorate the marquees down at the park (the boys just won't do them right!!), get Lil down for a nap, get her dressed and do her hair..... ahhhh where to start??!!
How was your party yesterday Nyree?

Happy Birthday Chels and Lilly
Hope the party goes well today (Sum, don't over do it).
Can't wait to hear about Alan's Nyree
Emma - I know exactly how you feel. Normally I would be at work today and DH would be taking care of Nina. I asked him if that was going to be the case and he said yes. Awesome, I was so looking forward to a sleep in. Well he came to bed at 4.30am and when she woke at 7 and when I asked if he was getting up to her he said no and rolled over. I am SO angry. I was going to make a start on one of the food items for Nina's party and finish off the decorations (I made toadstools and flowers out of coloured paper to stick to the walls of the flat) but I doubt I'll be able to. I told him he was getting out of bed at 11am and he said 'yeah right', I could have seriously belted him. I have left the bedroom door open and am encouraging Nina to be as long as possible, stuff him! He slept til 3pm yesterday! Argh.
10 teeth, wow, go Soph!
Amy- jealous about your Ikea trip, love that place

Wow more birthdays Happy birthday Girls - Desperately waiting to see pics of these parties hehehe!!
Wow - 25 hours later we are home - What an easter and Dads. We ended up sleeping at my mums and dads it was great!
Ry has so many toys, clothes and chocolates from easter. We have a whole shelf of chocolate in our pantry no joke! . OHs family only bought ry chocolate - what the hell where they thinking he cant even eat it !

at least my family had some common sense and gave him things he could actually use!
Hope everyone else had a fantasticl long weekend to.
~Emma~
Apr 5 2010, 11:46 AM
What do you mean he can't eat it??!!! Sophie has eaten WAYYYYY too much choc!! LOL
She got lots of PJ's and my brother got her a lovely dressing gown!
_Alana_
Apr 5 2010, 12:14 PM
Oh like he can - but a bit every day would take him at least a yr to get through!! we gave it to him a few times yesterday and he would have a bite and walk away - most food he will scream for more but he wasnt that interested. Either way it doesnt bother me he can have it if he wants!
A dressing gown how sweet - Ry got one for his baby shower i should drag it out and see if it fits! thanks for remnding me.
He did a pair of ugg boots too yesterday they are so funky!!

Apr 5 2010, 02:46 PM
Nina got some PJs off her Aunty, a dora egg cup and spoon from some neighbours, a beatrix potter pack with DVD, chocolate and little peter rabbit toy from other neighbours, 2 large chocolate bunnies from another neighbour (?) and Mum and Dad got her an egg cup as well, $20 for her account and Mum bought 9 vouchers with a little chicky attached that said we donated towards a chicken coup for a third world family - so happy she did that, much better than chocolate (though she gave us a few token eggs). I think it was $20 a voucher so pretty great I reckon.
DH got up at 11 and has been with Nine since, he apologised for being selfish
I am just sitting on the lounge making decoration for Nina's party - so cute

Well I am utterly exhausted. I am laying here in bed trying to get some sleep but it ain't happening. Hubby and Lily are fast asleep!
Party was amazing. Everyone turned up and I think they all had a good time. I am uploading pics to FB now for you to check out.
Lily got so so so so spoilt!!!!
How did yours go Bee?
Mon, how frustrating of hubby!!! We have an agreement, he sleeps in Saturdays I sleep in Sundays, it mostly works but sometimes it doesn't!
Alana, sounds like Ry got spoilt for Easter.
Emma, have fun at work you poor thing. I feel like a burger from KFC....mmmmm.....
Happy Birthday Lily & Chelsea! Summa & Bee- I've just looked at facebook and the parties seemed like so much fun. Now, for all of us still looking at planning parties- any great pearls of wisdom to share?
Monica- what a great stash for Easter! William got nothing. Nothing at all.

Although I did go to Ikea today and do some serious damage to the bank account for his birthday- Mammut table & chairs, crawl tunnel and a few toy storage thingys.
Emma- are you back at work tonight?

You seriously need a job closer to home.

Happy Birthday Chels and Lil!
Monica, there were 3 couples/families from Brissy. The majority of my family are in Rockhampton anyway so it wasn’t far for any of them to travel. We didn’t do a birthday keepsake. And looks like your lady bug cup cakes are going to be great!
SK, I baked Alan’s cake on Saturday and iced it Sunday. I agree... so much easier.
Alana, Ry sounds like Alan food wise. He eats everything and anything and has a good gag reflex.
Summa, I’m always worried about under catering too, we had lots though. Whenever we go to a BBQ at the inlaws you have to dive for the food because there is never enough.
Emma, I hear you on RSVP’s... some people just don’t get that you need to RSVP if you’ve been invited.
Amy, if you can’t find the animals... maybe print them on colour and laminate so they stand up? I’ve never tried it but it’s an idea.
Bee, photos look great on FB. I agree to wait till Ry turns 1 before we move.
Well the party was great... and HUGE. Alan got so so so many presents, lots of clothes, shoes, toys, dvd’s. The jumping castle was an absolute hit and even I got in it (had to rescue my 3yr old cousin). I will upload some photos to FB as soon as I can find my camera cord!
My Dad and Step Mum moved out on Friday too so we have the place to ourselves. I am 80% unpacked. Nathan gets home tomorrow afternoon... he is going to be so shocked at how much has been unpacked.
It has been ridiculously crazy here the last few days, helping with the moving on Friday, party prep, cleaning and cake baking on Saturday, party on Sunday and today has been filled with cleaning and more unpacking. The house looks like a home, there are no empty boxes laying around, no rubbish, no clutter... just the way I like it!
Chocolate: I think we have enough to last us until next Easter! I have a storage container filled with bunnies and eggs in the pantry, plus I have a gift bag full in the fridge. I’ll be sharing them around with the family over the next few weeks. I have an Aunt, Uncle and a Grandad who are chocoholics. Every time someone visits me I might give them an egg or bunny LOL.
ETA: Alan is having his 12 month vaccinations tomorrow at 8am. Not looking forward to them because he is normally a grump afterwards.

Happy Bday Mitchell!!
Amy, no pearls of wisdom here, just try to enjoy it. I felt like I was running around the whole time trying to speak to everyone and make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and I didn't see much of Lily, I wish I had have spent more time with her. And get LOADS of pics. Hubby's cousin took like 150 pictures for us.
Nyree, sounds like your party was a hit! And good job with the unpacking!! Good luck with needles today, I have to book them in. Want to get them done before this bub arrives.
Hi Rochelle! Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
Got so much cleaning to do today, the house is filthy and I am really not in the mood. Have my little sister here looking after Lil for me.

Happy Birthday Mitch!!
Wow what a busy day yesterday was!

We had a fantastic time. Chels got some lovely gifts. Lots of books and clothes!! Today Im going to be trying to get them all washed and put away!.
Summa Lils party looked great. I love the cake
Nyree - Thanks for reminding me about the needles! Must book Chels in for hers

Im not looking forward to them that's for sure. I might wait until Friday or early next week. She is really upset with her teeth at the moment. She has 6 now

Sounds like Alans party was a hit too

Cant wait to see some pics.
rikki - How have you been?? How was easter?
Alana - good to hear that you had a nice Easter

Love the pics on FB
Mon - The decorations for the party look fantastic, good work.
Amy - how did you go with the animals? Any luck finding any yet?
Emma - Have you got anymore RSVP's yet?
We are pissed at my BIL at the moment. Chels didnt get a card or anything from him

Its sad because he forgot all about Breanna's 3rd birthday too

Im over it. I have had enough of his childish crap. He is 23, he should know better. I know it might sound silly but family to me is so important and how hard is it to send a card or ring up and see how her day went??
Well I better hop off and get ready for today. Im going to have coffee with a friend while I have one child today. Chels loves shopping so its good. Just waiting for her to wake up (yes she had a sleep thismorning

)

Happy Birthday Chels and Lil!
Happy Birthday Mitch!
God these first birthdays are coming thick and fast now!
So glad the parties went well Nyree, Summa and Bee. And WHOO HOO for lots of pressies!!!
Nyree, sounds like you're feeling better about the move now you have space to yourself. I reckon your hubby is going to think you're a super star when he gets home. Bugger he missed the party though (I think you need to update your sig LOL)
Rikki - so good to hear from you. Would love an update on your girls and how you're doing x
Much love to all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCH! Hey everyone. I am exhausted, so please forgive my incoherentness (see! I can't even spell it). Had a massive day at work that started with my son leaping out of my arms to hug his daycare provider (sob) and ending with me doubting my decision to go back full-time. I think it's just jitters, and I have to keep reminding myself that it's for my career, not money, so I can leave if I really hate it. But still- feeling weird today.
Bee- thanks for asking about the cake. I found a local cupcake maker who can bake me jungle animal themed cupcakes (easy) but DH likes the idea of an actual cake better. Sigh. So still thinking. I was given the name of a store where I can buy pre-made fondant, and if I get a pre-made cake...it's all looking pretty easy. Now just to find some pictures of animals, laminate them (thanks for that tip,
Nyree!)...yawn. It's just all too much to take care of right now. Should have started months ago!
I also know what you mean about your BIL- at least a phone call would have been appreciated.
Summa- your photos are great and you look FANTASTIC! Really- such a vision of a happy, glowing pregnancy. And your cake was amazing.
Rikki- Thanks for stopping in to say hi!
Nyree- that sounds like a great party! You are an unpacking superstar....will you come and do my house next time we move?

Apr 7 2010, 11:35 AM
He's done it to me again, argh.
I took the day off as I have a bad neck, it's not too bad but given the busy few days and party on the weekend I thought it best to rest so I don't injure it more.
DH got up and did the breakfast shift and we both had a snooze when she went back down for her morning sleep. Now she is awake and he wants to snooze and said he'll do dinner.
I asked him to pretend I wasn't here and reminded him how bad he felt about doing this to me on Monday. Once again, in one ear and out the other. I can feel the anger tightening in my neck. I am SO mad
~Emma~

Monica
Apr 7 2010, 07:32 PM
He stayed in bed til she woke after the afternoon sleep - 3.15. I went to the shops with Mum and my sister and didn't come home til 6pm. He bathed her, I had a cuddle and gave her the bottle, he cooked dinner and is now doing the ashing up whilst I go and do the food shopping

Thats a lovely idea Emma. Breanna has a pandora and Chels has a lovelink petite bracelet.
Im off to kmart thismorning to pick up the little F&P Dr's set they have advertised for $10. Breanna has been wanting one for ages and at $10 I can't not get it.
We are going out to the club for dinner tonight with some friends and their kids for a birthday which will be good. Fingers crossed Chels doesnt muck up to much

She has been so sooky and its driving me crazy

Mon, don't worry too much if you can't afford a keepsake. We didn't get Lil one because she already has a bangle and bracelet. I am making a scrapbook with all of her 1st bday cards in it, perhaps that is a good idea?
Emma, what's stopping you get a smart trike? Lil LOVES hers, we use it everyday!
Bee, have a lovely night! Wish I was going out.
SK, great about the course, I wish I was good at cooking!!
Had my check up today. Baby is not engaged and it is facing out, not back so that is why I have so much back pain! She wouldn't do s&s for another 2 weeks because she is going away tomorrow for a week and doesn't want me to go into labour. Also had a choice, get the diabetes test or just go on the diet so I have decided to bite the bullet and just do the diet for the last 2 weeks, I really don't want those 3 needles!
So waiting, waiting, waiting. At my next appt she will do s&s, then book induction for a couple of days later and break my waters then. I have had enough!!
Monica
Apr 8 2010, 05:25 PM
I ended up getting her an silver bracelet and attaching a lady beetle charm
The baby stuff was way over priced so I bought an adult bracelet with the charm seperate - Prouds had to send it away if I wanted it altered so I went to Michael hill and they couldn't help either but referred to this great guy in the centre. He initially thought he would send it away to but looked at it and said he could shorten it on the spot for no charge AND attach the charm for me - it couldn't be soldered as it's got enamel colouring on it but he attached a clasp to it so now it can be taken on and off the bracelet is I find it catches on things or what to change the charm or whatever - whole lot cost me $32 - SO happy
**Bee**
Apr 9 2010, 08:55 AM
Sounds good Mon!
Summa I bet your over it! I remember this stage with Chels, I was going crazy
Had a lovely time out last night for my friends bday. All the kids were so good which helped make the night

Always nice when kids dont play up.
We are off to the ECHN today for our 1year check up and while I am there I have booked Breanna in for her 3 year one

Bit late I know. After that we are off to our playdate with Breanna's little cousin again like every Friday. She loves it.
I have booked Chels in for her needles on Monday

Damo is on holidays next and I have MG at ours on Monday. I forgot about MG being here when I booked the appointment and the needles are at the same time MG starts. So Damo is going to take her up. I feel bad about not being there but I am sure she will be fine with Dad. She will get to come back and play with all her friends after. Hope she isnt to bad after.

Apr 9 2010, 01:38 PM
Ilya is taking Nina for her needles too Bee as I will be at work.
My girl has finally cracked 10kg.
Mum got out my sister's blue book and at 7 months she was 10.7kg - Nina and her are so much a like but obviously not in weight!
Shopping is all done.
Just found out the water will be off tomorrow from 9.30-10.30 (how annoying) so I am going to wash all the fruit (doing a fruit salad) and vegies for the sambos this avo so that's done. I decided against the fish fingers so the kids are having chicken and cheese balls, cheese and vegie swirls, avocado dip and vegies sticks and noodle boxes of fruit salad. Sambos for the adults. All up I've spent about $250 and next week is going to be double, eek!
Mum bought me a new nappy bag - it's just a large canvas over the shoulder bag with ladybugs on it
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT TOMORROW
No personals guys, my head is going a million miles an hour!
Hi everyone
We had needles today

Poor little one is grumpy but otherwise doing fine. Weighing at 9.5kgs, so a tiny bit underweight, but the nurse wasn't concerned. Said that he's doing fine on everything else and is clear, happy, alert. He's also cutting teeth 5 & 6 (I can feel them!) and drooling like a four month old. Yeah, it's been a fun day
Monica- good luck for the party tomorrow! Your new nappy bag sounds really sweet.
Bee- She'll be fine with Dad. It's nice to share those chores around sometimes. DH hasn't been here for any of Williams needles and sometimes I wish he would...it's hard to describe how mean you feel when you're holding down a screaming baby so a stranger can poke them with needles.
Summa- Gah! I can understand how frustrated you must feel! I hope that Jnr decideds to take some action over the weekend and present himself. This time last year, it was my duedate....and even by that point I was over it, let alone 4 days later when he actually arrived. How late was Lilly (or wasn't she late at all?)
SK- I can't wait to see his finished cake!
Mothers of sons- I want to get William a keepsake but I can't think of anything 'boyish'? Any ideas? The girls are getting pandora bracelets and that sounds adorable...but I don't want to get William one. Ideas Ideas Ideas?
Sarah Kate
Apr 9 2010, 03:26 PM
Monica, it sounds gorgeous!!!!
Bee, I have made my appointments too (including Emma's - bad mummy!). We don't have ours till the end of the month though because silly me thought she would have appointments around his birthday! Needles aren't till the 22nd either.
This time last year I was 40 weeks pregnant but Nathan had other ideas making me wait another 6 days

Amy - I got Nathan the t-shirt because I figured he can wear it till he grows out of it and then I can put it away. I am not one for jewellery for boys and unless you want to get him a bottle of whiskey and let it mature till he's 21, there really isn't many other options LMAO!!
How is the weekend looking for everyone?
I mowed today so next week the grass will look nice for his party. Cam will whippersnip tomorrow because I can never start the bloody thing. Also going to buy some clothes for Nathan tomorrow and then I think his birthday shopping is done. Also going to try and get a good photo of him so I can send generic thankyous out after his birthday party.
Better go - kids are playing hide and seek and Nathan is cracking it because he can't find Emma LOL!

After this party I think I am going to use all the decos as decalls on Nina's wall. Wouldhome made look gouache?

Apr 9 2010, 08:28 PM
Bee I have Lil booked in for needles on Thursday. Mum is coming because I can't bear to hold her whilst she has them done. I just feel terrible and always cry but I know it has to be done.
Mon, good luck for tomorrow. What does gouache mean?
Amy, Lil was two days early but I think that was due to stretch and sweep and then having the gel inserted once contractions started. They won't use gel for VBAC. She told me sperm has the same ingredient so just have lots of sex. So we are going to try that everynight for the next two weeks! I hope Lil does as well with her needles. Last time she got quite a temperature.
SK, good work with the mowing! I miss being able to mow. No way I could whippersnipper, I am too scared of all the things flying at me!!
Hubby is downstairs watching the footy so I am up here in bed. I should really try and get some sleep. We have swimming lessons tomorrow and we are going to try and go out for lunch and see a movie on Sunday, might be the last opportunity we get before bub arrives.

It is good to be able to share the chores

I guess he can't laugh at me anymore when I tell him I got tears in my eyes last time she got them

He will see just how heartbreaking it can be
I dont have a boy but what about getting a little football or something and getting everyone to write him a little message on something on it for him?? Even a nice little signature bear??
Sarah - Nathans shirt is such a good idea. I love it! I showed Damo and he wants to get the girls one now
The ECHN appointment went well today. Chelsea is going along well. She is going to be a little thing though. She was JUST off 9kgs and she is 75cms. She is on the 25th percentile for weight and inbetween the 50 and 75th percentile in length and hc.

Hello!
I start full time work tomorrow

I'm nervous, to say the least. I've also got a little boy who is DAYS away from walking. He's taken about 3 steps today (in 3 lots of 1 steps!) and I'm already feeling bad that he'll probably start walking officially at daycare. Great.
SK- Cold and windy. Perfect. Can you send some of that here? It's disgusting and sweaty and hot in Brisbane.
Bee- Hope Chels does okay with her needles in the morning! We got William weighed last week and he's at 9.5kgs- so also a little one

Also on the short side (not suprising) but with a head circumfrence over the 75th percentile
Monica- the pictures look great! What a fantastic party!
Summa- Still hanging in there? Who is your announcer? I read your other thread about having the pressure....I hated these last few days of pregnancy, but it's fantastic you are going out to dinner and having some couple time before the chaos starts. At least this time you have the confidence to know that the sleepless nights end eventually!
Anyway, I have to go rescue my son from the toilet. I can hear him banging the brush around in the bowl. Sigh- and then to go yell at DH for leaving the door open, AGAIN.

What a busy day!

hahaha amy that is a very common scene here to - but Ry puts things in the toilet!! Men!
Well we can add chocolate to the list of allergy food with seafood - im thinking the nuts but will go to the pead for testing i dont want to find out. We gave him one choc on easter and he got very little hives around his mouth, we have let them go down over the week and fully disappear so we can re try to be double sure anyway last night i gave him one bite straight away hives around his mouth and he has woken with swollen lips and they are bright red today

sigh i thought croup/asthma, eczema, all the feet problems and the seafood allgery were enough!
Mon - loved the pics, Bee and Shae loved your pics too.
Going out tomorrow - to start buying the decorations for rys party and go to the hire place for the chairs and tables etc.
Ry has physio tomorrow as well - two full new night splints being made - hopefully our last set - i said that last time though

Thanks Bee -
we had to go to the docs tonight as Ry has been unwell but temp wouldnt come down from 40

! he has a throat infection and his 6th ear infection arghhh!! we have to go to the specialist for ears and allergies now - at least tonight doc saw his mouth from choc and confirmed choc - probable nut allergy. So no nut products either.
Doc gave us the predmix ( which is the steriods he has when he has croup ) for the swelling from the throat infection and then it should clear up the rash and swollen lips from the one bite of choc last night! Ahh one thing after another!

I am so sorry to hear he isnt having a good run at the moment. If what they say is right about getting everything young will help build up your immune system when older, he should be one healthy grown up! It must be hard on you too seeing him sick so often ((HUGS))
