Had a bit of a scare this morning
Soph had her 1st sleepover at my parents and mum called me at 630am and said soph had been spewing everywhere and she was a bit listless. So i went straight over and we took her up to hosp, i didn't want to get her too dehydrated. Anyways we got to hosp and why we were waiting she fell asleep over my shoulder without dummy or wrap and i was able to get some milk into her without her throwing it back up. The doc is sure she caught a bug at swimming (he referred to the pool as a soup of germs
) and she should be right as rain soon. I knew that in the back of my mind, but just wanted reassurance. She has been super sleepy today, but i know when im sick too, i want to sleep all day aswell
That is just scary. How is Soph doing now?

I think my bubba has finally mastered solids (I hope I'm not speaking too soon).
Pear and cereal mid-morning then sweet potato for dinner. A dessert spoon of pear with one teaspoon of cereal and then a dessert spoon of sweet potato. She didn't finish either but came really close and there was hardly any that she spat out on her bib.

Well do we have a hit on our hands! Yesterday I dry-roasted pumpkin and sweet potato together and blended them up. DS sucked it down so fast tonight, he wouldn't take his eyes off the spoon. I've never seen him eat like that, most of the time he's too busy stick-beaking at everything. I just cut everything up into 2-3 cm chunks, popped them upright onto a tray with baking paper and baked in a 150deg oven for 50 minutes, cooled then blended them. It keeps in more nutrients than boiling and baked vegies taste SO good. I'll do the same with potato and carrots and hopefully some will end up in his food.
We've also had a really good day. I've genuinely enjoyed him. He's a cheeky little monkey and only sits still when he's asleep. He's so active and climbs and rolls everywhere. He now won't sit still for a bottle, prefers being upside down so he can see everything, and his little legs kick constantly like he's doing horizontal jumps. He stood up unaided against the coffee table for well over a minute today and he giggled like a budgie when I 'chewed' him under his arms. He's usually such a difficult child that I think this is the first day we've really had fun. Hope we get more like this because it was truly delightful.
What a fantastic idea for solids. I'm going to try that. I'm also so glad that you've been able to enjoy your baby boy today- i hope this is the start of a corner and you get many more days like this!

I have had a very boring weekend. It was just me and Chels last night which was VERY weird
Damo is away and Breanna stayed at Nans house. I cant beleive how lonely I got. I hate being at home alone. I know Chels was here but she was in bed by 7. I should enjoy some alone time but god I missed Damo last night
We havent spent much time apart ever. He will be back late Monday night so Im looking forward to having him back
I think Chels was abit upset that both Daddy and big Sissy weren't here. She was so sooky all through dinner and didnt even want her bath which is NOT like her
Isn't it funny? We long for time alone, and then when we get it, wish for other people to be around. I'm the same!

So much for MY early night. DH was meant to do the DF but I feel he's had too much to drink so I said I'd do it (albeit, annoyed). Now he has gone to bed.
Monica- i would have just made him do it. If DH & I have agreed that something is his responsibility, i'll still keep him to his word, no matter what. It's the action & consequence thing- he'll now learn that he can get away with things like getting drunk in the afternoon, because you will give in & let him off the hook. Stick to your guns- he's a good parent, nothing bad will happen.

My sleeping baby has gone
My drinking baby has gone
And in return has been replaced with this monster child that looks like my son!
"this will soon pass....this will soon pass"
And don't even get me started on food!!
Oh NO! Fingers crossed it's a stage

We had his baptism yesterday & it was brilliant. He was so well behaved, cried for like a second when the water first started on his head, looked very cute in his gown. I loved it. Nep came to the church to see DS be baptised, thanks so much for coming
We had people back to our place yesterday - unfortunately it rained yesterday but we have a double garage & a decent size house so we just backed the cars out of the garage & used that to help give us a bit more room to expand. Its amazing that we fit 50 people back to this house but we did! Amazing what you can do huh?
Amy, i know Will was being christened yesterday, hope you had a fab day too xx
Toffee, i'm trying to look at your pics on FB and my computer's not letting me. I'll try again later- but i'm so glad it was a good day.
I've just babysat for a friend with an 18 month old. Woah- she was good, but into EVERYTHING. It's just taught me what to expect, and the things i have to be aware of- like i had clean, folded washing on the couch, that ended up being thrown all over the floor. Hmm. It was like a peek into the future- mommyhood's going to get harder, i think!
