Nyree
Summa, yes we will have to meet up sometime soon. And we can visit YG on the Gold Coast too!

Sex - One advantage of a c-sec is that I haven't had to use my Vag for delivery! Plus there is no where near as much bleeding as with a vaginal birth. After I had Madison it was definately well after the 6 week check until we did it. This time it was 2 weeks!

Sleep & Settling - I've noticed that Alan needs a little bit of light to sleep properly. We have to have our ensuit light on with the door a little ajar at night otherwise he won't go off to sleep.

Mother's Day - Just organised with my Mum today to have roast lunch at her place and I'll organise the desert.
**Bee**
Toffee I was bleeding til after 6 week check with Breanna. Stopped about a week ago this time. Takes a while for everything to settel down down there.

SK im the same as you... Wont be doing anything until after 6 week check up due to my tear also.

Nyree and Summa I would love to meet up with you girls one day on the GC. Would be lovely smile.gif

Well im off to feed Chelsea than going to get an early night.

Do feed times change each day with you girls that BF??
Monica
There really are only two bonuses to my situation- one is no periods ever again so consequently no contraception needed.

Wow, that took a bit of strength to type actually, the reality still hasn't really hit me
~Emma~
Monica sad.gif

Bee - my feed times change every day... although only by about an hour or so wink.gif
Nyree
YG, our feed times change all the time.

Monica sad.gif I don't know what to say sorry. Feel free to vent away on here though... we're all here to listen (well read anyway).
Smiles
Boy! You girls have been busy in here today! I don't even know where to start with personals! smile.gif

Contraception - with Steve's prostate being removed we don't have to worry about falling pregnant, the only way we can is through IVF. DH isn't comfortable with me discussing this to anyone IRL but we can't have sex anyway, due to him not having a prostate. It could be months or years before we can again. blush.gif

Monica - Hugs to you. I can't imagine how you are feeling. I can relate in a way because with DH's cancer and his prostate being removed the opportunity for me to just 'fall' pregnant has been taken away... but of course we still have IVF so I can imagine how much more painful your situation must be.

Mother's Day, Saturday night we are having my mum and sister & her family over for a pizza night (so none of us women have to cook!) and on Sunday morning DH is making me breakfast in bed and bringing me some trashy gossip mags to read in bed! Then he is going to cook me dinner (for the first time in 4 years! - it's amazing how he forgot how to cook once we got married wink.gif ).

YO - Our feed times change - Annabelle is still going roughly two hours but is now reintroducing some 3 hour stints too. I find if I offer Annabelle both breasts she overfeeds and chucks up, does anyone else who BF have this problem?

SK - good luck with the lactation clinic, and as long as you have a happy baby, there is no such thing as failure.

I am so sorry if I've missed anyone, I think the sleep deprivation is catching up on me, I'm off to catch some zzzzz's smile.gif
~Emma~
Sophie fed well overnight, fed at 7pm, then 11.30pm, then 3am now she is sound asleep!! i can handle these nights!
tjford
Good morning!

Mitchell is having a morning nap so its exciting that I can read and post!

I am so proud that some of you ladies have jumped back in the saddle (so to speak) and are thinking about contraception! tongue.gif I too am waiting for my postnatal checkup since I had a big tear, but even then, not sure I am that keen to have sex any time soon! Poor hubby! I'm still pretty sore in the pelvis and can't imagine anything worse at the moment.

Dani - you'll be pleased to know that I too polished off a large pizza all by myself! laugh.gif The sad thing is, I wasn't even that full afterwards! Mitchell is a guts too, and last week I was only feeding one side as he was vomiting after having both sides, but lately he is really hungry (maybe a growth spurt?) and is having both sides and only having small chucks after feeding.

Monica - I've been using Curash cream on Mitchell's nappy rash and it cleared it up beautifully, nearly overnight I think. Now we use it as just a barrier and his little bottom looks great.

Emma - I too suffered regular headaches/migraines before I was pregnant, which the GP said was probably hormonal and changed my pill around. They went away with the pregnancy, now of course they are back, so I think for me definitely they are hormonal. the 9 months without them was bliss, a really positive thing about being pregnant! I find massage and drugs are the only thing to get rid of them for me - not so easy with a small bubs! sad.gif

We are heading off to the M&CHN today for a weigh-in, and have to head to the shops to get some birthday presents. My first big outing tothe shops by myself - nervous!

Has anyone thought about what they would like for their 1st mother's day if this is your 1st baby? I can't think of anything extra special, sleep!!

Another question - what do you guys think about using flash when taking your bubs photo? I have a friend who said it damages their eyes, but can't really find any info on whether this is true. I try to avoid using flash but sometimes its needed.

Monica
We had an odd night, fed at 12, she wouldn't settle til 3, then slept til 7 -I didn't feed her in between. Am I neglectful -LOL

Can't wait for mother's day. We are having it at my parents place and my SIL (hubby's sister) and her hubby and 5 month old are coming as well. In light of the fact that we have been through a lot lately, I said I wanted everyone together, both sides. We are having a BBQ, hubby is making a salad as is my brother and my SIL is bringing some seafood - can't wait. Oh, and my 21yo sister has already picked out Nina's outfit - LOL
**Bee**
We had another great night here too biggrin.gif Chelse was asleep by 10 or so and didnt wake until 2am and than back asleep by 3am and up again at 630 smile.gif I was very happy with that. I dont mind her feeds like they are because I dont go to bed until after her last feed and stay awake after her 630 feed so Im really only waking once now.

tjford - Let us know how the weigh in goes today!! Goodluck with your first outting by yourself too smile.gif

Mon - Sounds like you are going to have a lovely Mothers day wub.gif and no you arent neglectful for not feeding inbetween. You dont want them getting used to having a feed when they dont really need it. If she seemed happy enough without a feed im sure she was fine, prob just wanted to have a play like Chelsea used too rolleyes.gif

Hey I was thinking... We should do up a lil stats list to add to the front page... What do you girls think??? I will add mine now and we can just update them as we go along and once its finished add it somewhere to the front page.

Anything else we should add?? Im having a blank moment....

We can keep the one that is there if you all want I just thought it would be good to add the weights to them also.
Nyree
Well we had a great night. Fed at 7pm, then at 1245am, then again at 530am. Then went strait back to sleep so I could have a sleep in till 730am (when Madison then woke up).

I've been busy all morning clearing out Madison's toys and tidying her toy room (rumpus room). Took some baby toys out and put them with Alan's toys too... I thought I got them all!

Well, we had a few visitors this morning, and as such Sophie was a little overtired, and was a bit hard to settle, although she is down for the count now with her dummy. She isn't sucking on it anymore, should i take it away and risk waking her up, or just let her spit it when she is ready??

How do you guys do your housework? do you have set days that you do set things? or just do whatever needs to be done whenever? do you wash everyday? towels, sheets?? I'm thinking i need to set some sort of plan up so things are getting done, especially when Scott goes back to work, as it'll be just me...

Maybe each time someone adds their details they could copy the ones already done and that way once everyone is on the list it will be easy to just copy over to the front page smile.gif

Emma - I let Chelsea spit the dummy out herself but its up to you really what you do. Some people do pull it out. And I do abit of housework every day. I dont really have a routine as such. I just do what needs doing. I do the floors every 2-3 days and washing everyday. The bathroom gets done once a week and the rest just gets done as it needs doing pretty much which is not as often. I just do things as I think of them and get the time. Which reminds me I really should be cleaning now wacko.gif

Nyree Alan is giving you guys great sleeps biggrin.gif

Friday used to be my housework day, eg. change sheets and do all housework (dusting, vacuuming, mopping) and do washing every day.

Now I do a bit each day and I still wash each day. I wish I could get back into a routine. Perhaps once my tummy feels better I might.

Emma, I let Lil spit the dummy out too.

Nyree, I wish I had some of your energy. Didn't get out of my pj's until lunchtime which is not like me at all, I felt a bit naughty and hoped no-one would catch me!
Nyree
Summa, don't feel guilty! I used to and still do, have days when I lounge around in PJ's till mid morning/lunch time.

Emma, I let Alan spit the dummy out when he wants to. I wash once a week on Monday, and do the bathrooms/toilets once a week but I don't have a set day for that. Everything else gets done when it needs to. I'm on top of it all though so when something does need to be done it's a 5sec job. Oh and vacumming and floors get done once a week because toddlers tend to mess up carpet really bad! Except the floor around the dinner table... it gets done 3 times a day!

I forgot to tell you guys that Alan and I had our first outing on Tuesday together. We dropped Madison at day care and then I had a few things to do so he came along with me (of course). Now to tackle two kids alone!... maybe next week ph34r.gif

Hi everyone! Just a quick catch-up.

B is still sleeping well and although is a bit harder to settle these days, he can go down whether its light or not - for now! He has a 'demon feed' between 9pm and midnight that I have trouble settling him for, but apparently it's normal for babies to have a long awake time late at night. Otherwise we're doing just fine. I've been out lots of times with him and feel pretty comfortable with hubby at work. B's also growing in front of me which makes me a bit sad actually, I love having a newborn, they're so precious and I wish this time would last a bit longer. blush.gif We're still doing the combination bf and formula although last night his poo was a horrible green/brown which according to a bf book I have, may indicate lactose intolerance? He doesn't seem to be having too much trouble but I'll keep an eye on it.

We're currently planning our NZ trip and it looks like the first week of July is the go. I can't wait! I'm so homesick and it's going to be wonderful introducing B to the family. Plus we've got a fantastic airfare deal so hubby can come along as well, it's costing us $620 for all three of us return, including two domestic flights!!

We finally folded and got Foxtel installed today. I haven't needed it before and hate all the ads on it but we got a great deal because we have our home phone, internet and mobiles with Telstra and as I'm home so much these days, we figured it'd be worth it. I'm currently watching mythbusters... smile.gif

Sex - still bleeding here so no nookie for us just yet. I'll ask about contraception at the 6-week check up.

Mothers Day - spending it with our mothers. Hubby jokingly said he'd take B to the shops so he could get me a present. smile.gif

Housework - because B has good long sleeps during the day, I do the housework as it's required. That way it's a small amount each day.

Change of nappy - yep, I do it each feed. As we get on average 3.5-4 hours between each feed, his nappy is always very wet and full each time so I have to. He only has one pooey nappy per day which usually occurs during his unsettled time late at night.

YG & Summa - thanks for the heads up on the amount you're feeding your babies. B does seem to be drinking a lot because he has the same amount and he's two weeks younger than your babies but if he's sleeping well, growing and has lots of wet nappies, I guess I'll just keep feeding as he requires it.

Toffee - I'm glad Karitane helped give you more confidence! I really hope it helps Blake settle better. It's also great he's gaining such a good amount of weight, you must have great milk!

Mon - It's lovely you've been able to find something positive in what's happened. It's great to hear Nina is feeding and growing well too.

Tanya - flash on babies, I'm sure that if you used them constantly all day, every day, perhaps it could cause some damage? But if you're taking the occasional photo, I think it'd be fine.

Well it's nap time and then B and I will go for a walk!

Hugs to everyone. smile.gif

I have got alot to catch up on.

Housework, I vacuum and wash everyday, the rest I do as it needs to be done.

Guy goes back to work on Sunday sad.gif I will just spend the day with my girls. We will go and see my mum and guys mum sometime during the day.

Sex, I am still bleeding and will get a prescription for the mini pill at my 6 week check up.

Paige wont take a dummy, she is sleeping very well, gets a little unsettled in the afternoons but sleeps well at night! Wish I could say the same for my 2 year old!!!!

I am a little nervous about guy going back to work as he has been dealing with Rhianna when she wakes at night and cooking dinner when Paige is unsettled in the afternoons. I just have to be very organised and try and cook dinner during the day and do the best I can at night! 3 kids ARGH!!! scary.

~Emma~
Rochelle, could Taylor help out with Rhianna?? or even help with dinner??

My girl just had a bath, and now is just gooing and gahing in the bassinette, i have her in the swaddleme wrap cause she keeps getting ehr arms out, and she has been waking after only 90mins.. so im hoping this can help that..

Well my little man of 4 weeks is not so little! Today at the check up he weighed 5.16kg! He has put on 750g in 2 weeks!! And also grown 3cm. No wonder my arms and back are getting sore! I do love his chubby cheeks tho and so glad he is healthy and 'thriving'. Hubby thinks I have super booby juice!

Yeah she helps alot, baths or showers Rhianna with her but I am very conscious of how much responsibility I put on her, its not her fault she has two little sisters and I don't want her to feel like she HAS to help me...IYKWIM?

I saw those snuggle wraps things at the baby shop the other day..they are a little expensive..would you say they are worth it emma?

Ok i will try and catch up with everything that is going on lol.

Contraception - ive heard about an injection that lasts 3years, its not the one that implants into your arm, its like a liquid injection. Obviously i need to find out more about it lol
I cant believe that some of you are up to sex !!!! i can bearly pee without crying blink.gif

Dummies - Ry likes his dummy already ph34r.gif he has a bottom lip that he turns sucks right in so im hoping that the dummy will help him feed better

Feeding - this is a little tricky. I was happy with him feeding for 10mins on one and and about 5mins on the other - but the nurse that came ot today said this wasnt enough it should be at least 20mins on each side huh.gif so i need to try harder to get him to eat more but he is just soooooo sleepy im finding this really hard. He will cry to go back to sleep cause he doesnt want to eat, like i said im finding this hard.

Housework - OH is great and jut does whats needed when needed and i too will do the same pretty much how we were when post birth will be the same now.

We were told today that we need to do exercises with one of Ry's feet because he keeps it turned in in a week or two if its not going out we need to go to a physio

Ok this is getting a little tricky i keep forgetting were im up to lol ill try to finish later xxx
~Emma~
Alana - Dont let the nurses put pressure on you. If rylan falls asleep and is crying to go to sleep, put him to sleep, you may have a really fast flow and he gets what he needs is that time, When Sophie was only a few days old, she was the same, although now, she feeds for 25-30mins on each side.. If he is still hungry, he'll wake sooner wink.gif you'll get into a rhythm with him and understand what YOUR SON needs, not what the nurse thinks he needs.

Rochelle - Mum bought this one for me online, she got it for a great price on ebay. She was a little unsettled this arvo but i can't be sure if that was because of the wrap, or if it was the extra stimulation from the bath etc etc.. After tonights feed, i wrapped her up and cuddles for about 10mins and she was out. If it keeps going like this, we may have to invest in some more wink.gif

My right nipple is cracked sad.gif i have been sloshing with the lasinoh and it is getting better... She attaches perfectly, i think it is like it cause she sucks so damn hard!!!
USANatalie
Hellooo all!

I finally have a bit of time to check in. Between recovering from my epic delivery. It still seems surreal to me that I laboured to 10cm naturally - was pushing - had an epistomy and then had a c-section. Not to mention my not so little uterine tear. Lots of stitches in lots of places for me. But now to the baby.....

Rohan is a delightful bubba. He just sleeps and eats, we're getting a few more awake periods now but we are still trying to sort our a feeding schedule. We were on 3 hourly in the hospital but he lost 12% of his birthweight and by day four we had to start supplementing with formula. My poor body has been through so much and so I'm just not producing enough milk at the moment. I find it really hard to admit that I feel like I'm failing again (I had a similar experience with Sameera and ending up exclusively pumping for four and half months - it was important to me that she got breastmilk). I had such high hopes for this labour and things went pearshaped and now I feel like I'm letting everyone down again. Rohan put his birth weight back on once we started supplementing and we went to demand feeding last week with me pumping after each feed and then supplementing with the EBM instead of formula. Unfortunately he started losing weight again and went into conservation mode which meant he was sleeping for 5 and 6 hour stretches which is too long for a two week old (to do consistantly - I'm not talking about the odd long sleep). I read your stories of milk drunk babies and pumping large amounts of milk and it makes me a little jealous and sad. It would make me so happy if I could do that. As my Mum and husband keep reminding me though - I ended up with major surgery and a prolonged recovery. It's not like my body was going to stop repairing itself and throw itself into milk production just because I wanted it to.

Argghh! Enough wallowing! So! to fix the situation I have been to see a lactation consultant and we are back on three hourly feeds with EMB and forumla supplements. Rohan feeds for about 15-20 mins each side and then we top up with EMB or formula. I then pump for 15mins each side after every feed except the night ones - sleep is more important. Until we get his weight back up I can't really think about demand feeding. It tortures me that I am back on the breast pump but I guess I just need to accept that my DDs are more for show than service. Which galls me to say. However I WILL NOT GIVE UP! Already we are leaps and bounds ahead of where we were with Sameera so I feel good that at least I can breastfeed at all (she writes now as if she doesn't beat herself up every other hour).

Sex - bwaaahahahahahahhahahahahahahahaha! My parts don't know which way is up thanks to the attempted vacuum delivery AND I have a c-section scar so no, nothing for us until at least six weeks.

Mothers Day - my friend is having her sons 1st Birthday party on Mothers Day so hubby will be making me and my Mum breakfast and then we'll be at the party in the afternoon.

Housework - I'm really lucky that my Mum is here and hubby is still off work. Mum has been doing a lot of the washing and running the vacuum over, making beds etc. My husband has been doing the grocery shopping and cooking. As I said, I was pretty banged up so really wasn't able to do much. Also, we have a cleaner that comes every two weeks.

Change of nappy - I was doing it at the beginning of each feed but now do it between sides to help wake him up. We find with the three hourly feeding that he's sometimes too sleepy to feed but we need him to put that weight back on.

Alana - I wouldn't dismiss what the nurse is saying. Rohan started taking six hour sleeps a few days ago and it turned out he was conserving his energy because he wasn't getting enough to eat. You should definitely be following whatever professional advice you are getting until your little man is less of a newborn.

looking forward to the hearing about everyones adventures in parenting as we continue the journey.

Hey Smiles, Thankyou for adding my lovely Lola to the list on the front page!

Means a lot wub.gif

Kristalee
Summa
Kristalee, how are you doing? You know we are all here for you x

We had such a weird night, I hope there isn't something wrong. She slept from 7pm last night and I actually woke her at 3:30am cause I thought she might be hungry!! Then she went straight back to sleep and woke at 7:30am. I hope she is feeling ok. I didn't want to let her sleep through cause I am scared of starving her.

We are going to my little sister's primary school today to watch her in a play, and so she can play proud aunty!

Good to hear from you Natalie, make sure you rest up.

Alana, wish I could offer some advice but unfortunately Lil is on the bottle (which is working wonderfully, although I do feel guilty at times - if only the midwives had the time to teach me how to breastfeed!).

Rochelle, I know what you mean. I am 23 and have a 9 year old sister, but my mum was great, let me help out when I wanted to but didn't have to take responsibility for her.

~Emma~
Kaylee - hope your ok.. we're here if you need to yell, vent or just get upset...

Summa - I don't bottle feed, so not sure on what is right/wrong in that situaion, but i was told to not let bubs go more than 6 hours without a feed. If they have a big sleep like that and miss a feed, usually they spend the next 24 hours catching up, so you may find that she will need extra on feeds today, or demand another.. Possibly take an extra botle to the school play wih you incase Lil gets a bit unsettled wink.gif

Nat - you have defintally had a rough run.. How long til your mum goes home?? i havent even tried to express yet, might look at hiring an expresser in town today.. i have heard the medala is pretty good, any recs?

Our night last night went like, feed 6.30, asleep by 8, feed at 11, asleep by 12, feed at 3, asleep by 3.45, feed at 5.30 asleep by 6.30, and still sleeping wink.gif i like those nights, cause really only 1 wake up for me, cause im usually up around 5.30-6 anyways... i had a little nap before her 11pm feed, so that keeps me in trick, although i fell asleep sitting up wih her on the boob last night!! the swaddle me wrap wen great overnight, she self-settle prety much for all feeds except her last. i cuddle her til she is sleepy, but not yet asleep, put her down and let her do the rest. I also kept the night light off last night thinking the darker room will help, and it has helped with the settling, i think we're gonna keep her day sleeps in her room aswell.. even though she goes well in the lounge, i dont want o confuse her too much.
I am getting anxious about going back to work and BF, there is no possible way for me to express at work, and i dont wanna wean, im hoping that i will be able to comp feed with formula whilst at work, and BF when home.. Migh discuss with ECHN on next visit. Any advice? Nep, this is similarto what you do? Has ben had any confusion between the 2?
Nyree
Alana, we had the same thing with Alan’s right foot. The nurse told us to encourage him to extend it outwards. That was at our 1 week check up and he is fine now.

Emma, sorry to hear about your nipple. My left one cracked when I had Madison and I remember how painful it was! And you’ll definitely be able to formula feed during the day and BF when you’re home with her... your supply will adjust accordingly. When are you going back to work?

Nat, please don’t feel like a failure. You’ve been through a lot with your labour, delivery and recovery. I can understand how you must be feeling though because it is important to me too that Alan (and Madison) had breastmilk. Don’t be too hard on yourself xoxo

Kristalee, how are you guys going? Feel free to jump on here and chat to us anytime you need to.

Hi girls

I will do my best to catch up on personals - I am pretty tired today and inlaws are arriving soon to stay for the weekend.

Hi Kaylee, I just wanted to acknowledge you and Lola, I don't really know what else to say but I think you are really brave and admire you for revisiting here. Take care and know that you are held in my thoughts.

Nat, great to see you in here. Be kind to yourself, it sounds like you are doing an awesome job for Rohan!! wub.gif

Emma, you might want to check out the ABA website for info on returning to work and Bf'ing, or even give them a call.

Sex - not there quite yet, but I don't think we'll be too far off! tongue.gif

Mothers Day - going out for breakfast with hubby, Eliza, MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL and neice. Really looking forward to it.

Housework - what's that? tongue.gif Hubby has pretty much been doing the bulk of it. He goes back to work FT though on Tuesday. He said he will continue to do it and that I just need to worry about bub, but I would like to see how much I can get done. I like a clean house.

Nappy change - we always do them in the middle of a feed. and sometimes after a feed as well (she's pretty regular my girl! laugh.gif )

Dummies - we just introduced it the other night when Eliza was going a bit wild. She seemed to like it, but we took it out once she'd settled. I like knowing it's there if we really need but she usually can self settle. We wrap w arms up and she loves brushing her hands across her face.

Yesterday I went to check on Eliza in the bassinette and she'd wriggled across sideways so that her head was right up against the side. Gave me a fright. So today I bought a safe and sound safety sleeper thing that stops them rolling around. Phew.

Had a good night last night, fed 10pm, asleep by 11pm then didn't wake til 4 for her feed, then back asleep til 8am.

Yesterday we had a big day out shopping and I overdid it. Got completely exhausted and emotional, tried to tick off a big list of to do's and realised just how hard it is. Poo. WIth hubby returning to work I am getting a bit anxious as to how I will cope but am sure it will be fine. Just look at you girls doing it with toddlers as well!

Eliza has put on 410g in a week, what a chubba!! laugh.gif

Hello! Sorry it's been such an incredibly long time since i've posted, we've successfully moved house and finally got the internet back on today (don't ask me why it takes 2+ weeks to get it connected, i do not understand!!).

CONGRATULATIONS to all our mummies who made it across from the 'Expecting Mums' forum since i've been around last. Can't wait to read your birth stories and see photo's of your precious new bundles.

Will is doing very very well. In fact, every day i wake up waiting for him to turn into the horror child that everyone keeps predicting will happen. He sleeps at night like a tropper (from 8-1am, then a feed, and then from 1-6am). In the last few days i've even had to wake him up at 1am....i think he's getting ready to sleep through (fingers crossed, anyway) but all of the advice is that at this stage, it's not a great idea to let babies go more than 5 hours without a feed. Regardless, i'm getting so much more sleep than i anticipated and it feels great.

Anyway, sorry to make this short, but i want to spend some time catching up on everyone's personals! So much to read- see what happens when you are away for a few weeks!

**Bee**
Nat lovely to hear from you smile.gif Sounds liek you are doing a great job with Rohan, I wouldnt worry to much smile.gif You are a very good mummy. And we all worry about BF but in the end you had to do wht is best for your baby, and that is to keep them well fed, however that may be. Sounds like you had a painfull birth sad.gif I hope you are recovering well.

Kaylee you are such a strong person wub.gif As the others have said we are all here for you if you ever want to chat.

Liq - great weight gain Eliza has done there! And your hubby sounds like a very good man! Im sure you will do just fine when he is back at work. Just take it one day at a time. It is hard some days but you learn and it does get easier (until they turn 2! laugh.gif ) No but really you will do just fine wink.gif

Summa - Wow Lil had a massive sleep for you! She might be having a growth spurt at the moment. I would have woken her when you did too. Its abit scary when they do that to you hey! I remember when Breanna was 6 weeks she slept from 9pm - 2:30 and than at 7 weeks she went 9pm - 330 and the following week she was sleeping from 8pm - 5am ohmy.gif Within the next few weeks alot of babies start to sleep longer. I am finding that Chelsea is starting to get into a bit more of a routine at night time. Its just hard trying to line her feeds up so that they work in with her bedtime.

I wont be on for a few days as Im off on a mini holiday. Going up to the Goldcoast for a couple of days. We are leaving tomorrow. I hope you all have a fantastic Mothers Day. Cant wait to hear how it when for everyone. Would love to see some pics of all the mummies and there new babies smile.gif I better head off and finish packing. I had no idea how much stuff you need to pack for a newborn and a toddler!!
~Emma~
OMG we just had explodo poo, went everywhere all over her, her bassinette, wra EVERYTHING, andas Scott was changing her, she was STILL pooing, he was screaming out to me "WHAT DO I DO" the poor nappy that he took off her was so full already, it just was literally pouring off the sides sad.gif porr little girl... Could she be like this cause i have the runs a little bit? Then when i was feeding her, i'd just wrapped her and she was going to sleep in my arms, and she projectile vomitted all in my cleavage... cleaver girl didn't get any on herself though wink.gif

Welcome back Butsy, glad to hear the move went well and that Will is a champion sleeper!!! we're getting pretty similar nights, with an extra feed thrown in around 11, so i ain't complaining at the moment!!

OMG Emma, we had exploding poo yesterday. It was FOUL. I think the boy felt better though. Sorry you got covered in vomit though!

Well girls, we are on formula. Nathan is lactose intolerant and I can't believe the difference in him already. It's like I have a new baby wub.gif . I feel sad we wont be ablel to continue our BF relationship but I would rather my sanity than a screaming child who is in pain after every feed. I am hoping we have turned the corner now.

Will be back for more personals later. He just woke up!

Prob not until end of August/early September, and it'll just be part-time until the build my new store which is local to where we live. So i have a good 4-5 months but i don't want to get there and not have plans in place and end up having to wean all together...
Nyree
Liq, that is fantastic about the weight gain!

Butsy, yay you’re back!

YG, enjoy your weekend away.

Emma, I remember those poo’s. Cross fingers they don’t come my way for a while. Good to hear you are planning ahead regarding work.

SK, sorry to hear Nathan is lactose intolerant.

Well Alan just woke up and has been a bit unsettled this afternoon. Cross fingers it was just a couple of hours thing and he's over it huh.gif

Will have to make this fairly quick, i'm about to do Will's 9pm feed and then i'm off to bed. He's been very awake today, thankfully not grumpy, just inquistive- like he's realised that there is waay to much to do and see in the world to sleep. His favorite time of day is when we go for a walk around the neighbourhood.

Today he looked in a mirror for the first time and was really amazed. He went really wide eyed and made funny faces- it was great! smile.gif

Nyree, fingers crossed that Alan was just having a moment. Sounds like he's a really settled baby the rest of the time though!

Sarah, it's so good that they were able to address the issue early and you've been able to make the changes. I'll bet you will be seeing a real difference in Nathan now!

Emma, LOL at your exploding poo. It must have been very stressful at the time, but i couldn't help but giggle as i read the story smile.gif I was also wondering yesterday if something that gives me the runs also gives Jnr them too....Will was a poo/vomit king yesterday, which is fairly unusual. Has anyone got any ideas?

Goodnight everyone!!

~Emma~
I am so exhausted... Sophie woke every 3 hours on the dot from 4pm yesterday, fed for nearly an hour, then took an hour to settle back, so she was really only sleeping for an hour... I have no energy sad.gif sad.gif

Toffee - hats off to you!!! i dont know how you are managing that everyday!! i feel like a zombie today.. She woke at 9.15am and is still awake now. we feed for 30 mins on each side, i let her have a play on her floor mat for about 10mins, and then wrapped her up cause she was yawning and staring, and she is just happily sitting away in her bassinette, eyes open, but not screaming!!

Emma, if she's quiet & resting, that's good smile.gif

Just wanted to say Happy Mothers Day everyone.

I hope you all have a great day and get spoiled! wub.gif

I am awake at the moment paying the price for messing up William's routine today. We went shopping & to do some errands in the city, and he slept all day long (not suprising, because he loves the car and goes into a really deep sleep whenever we go for a drive). Now normally he can sleep all day long and still have a good sleep at night, but i let him go an hour over his scheduled feed time (so he had a four hour stretch between feeds, instead of three). Now he's awake as an owl....that will teach me!

I've currently got him in the 'auto-parent' (automatic swinging chair that plays music) just because it's the only thing that calms him down besides me holding him.

I can't complain. It's only the third unsettled night he's had since he was born.....i'm still very lucky!

Emma & Toffee, you poor things, you must be exhausted by this point. I also often leave Will alone in the bassinette, happily staring into space. If he's quiet & content, then i'm not going to miss this opportunity to take a break! Do important things, like eat!

Rikki, thanks for the message smile.gif

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to everyone. Our very first! Hooray! I got a breast pump as a gift- really amazing. It's actually really exciting, i had lots of fun playing with it tonight smile.gif
~Emma~
My 1st Mothers day in 4 yeras i won't be crying all day wub.gif

After the yesterday i was so exhausted and spent pretty much all day in bed wink.gif and had hubby take care of Sophie, he just woke me when se was due for feeding! And then last night she had a toal turn around!!! fed at 5.30, asleep at 6.20, fed at 11.30, asleep by 12.15, feed at 4.30 asleep by 5.10!!! Toffee, i hope things start to improve for you, i really couldn't imagine having to do that everyday! Have you thought about seeing a LC?

So, may not be online much at al today, cause we're so busy!!

love to you all on the special day!!
Sarah Kate
Much love to everyone on Mother's Day - particularly the ones having their first wub.gif

So quiet in here!!

how was everyones mother's day???
USANatalie
I'm having a fabulous Mothers Day so far!!

My husband bought me an Ipod Touch to replace the iphone I flooded a few months ago. I still have to carry a phone separate but I'm so glad to have my calendar back! (it was the second iphone I had destroyed in a year so husband wasn't about to get me a third one and I don't blame him but he appreciates that anything that beeps and tells me where I need to be on any given day is a godsend for a new mother who can't remember shit!).

He also cooked my mother and me Danish pancakes with three different fillings as well as Irish bacon and brioche. Then he cleaned up!!

The best thing of all is, he let me buy my mother a gold bracelet from Tiffanys to say thank you for everything she is doing for us. We are so appreciative I can't even articulate how much. My Mum didn't realise it was Tiffanys till she unwrapped the box and burst into tears before she even opened the box. Seeing her so touched and happy was the best present I could ever have had.

This afternoon we are going to a friends little boys first birthday party.

I hope everyone had the mothers day we deserve!
AK2
It has been quiet in here lately. And just when i'm up at night settling William until the crazy hours (okay, midnight, but that's crazy for me!).

It sounds like everyone had a really nice Mother's Day and was spoilt by their family members, both new & old smile.gif We had a fairly quiet day, but DH did take over most of the baby care jobs (except for the feeds, which he doesn't have the equipment for!!) and cooked a really nice Garlic & Rosemary Roast Lamb. Yumm.

Looking forward to an exciting week this week. It's DH birthday on Thursday, so i'm planning to cook a really nice meal and suprise him (i normally don't cook- ever!) and it means i have to drive into the city to find a birthday present. I'm also planning on dropping into my work and showing William off for the first time, so that will be a heap of fun.

I'm still not over the excitement of not being pregnant any more. Rolling over onto my tummy to sleep, being able to press up against my husband and get a real hug, not having to be careful about fitting into tight spaces, getting to eat soft-serve ice-cream again, wearing REAL clothing....ahh. I almost cried last week while i was packing up my maternity clothes- i just felt so frumpy and unfashionable most of my pregnancy, i'm so relieved to feel good about myself again!

liquorice
Hi mummies, hope you all were spoiled yesterday!

We went out for brekky with our inlaws who were visiting from out of town. Hubby and Eliza bought me slippers, a framed pic of Eliza and the book "Buddhism for Mothers". and a very sweet card. Oh, and hubby changed every nappy that day! And the best thing, I got a lovely long nap in the arvo (really needed it as only got 3hrs broken sleep the night before!).

Poor Eliza seems to have had windy troubles in the past day (I ate an omelette w chorizo in it, and turns out later we realised it was quite garlicky!) Never again, poor possum - she was most upset! sad.gif

After her morning feed I popped her in one of those Fisher Price vibrating recliners, she LOVED it! Prob spent 15 mins in there, happily lying back and watching me. I got to have my cereal! Think it will be great when I need to shower once hubby is back at work.

Hubby's last day of pat leave today! And it's my 30th bday today. He did have to go in this morning to teach the yr 12s but will be home soon and then we're out for lunch.

Butsy, I'm enjoying wearing normal clothes too - but still needing to consider tops for easy feeding! Love sleeping on my tummy too!

Have a good day all!
Sarah Kate
My mother's day was lovely. I got a money for a massage (which is booked in for thursday night!) and our mother's came over for breaky. Then in the afternoon we went dishwasher shopping because ours died wacko.gif .

DH has gone back to work today so trying to get a handle of juggling two children. Anyone with advice, it would be appreciated. I feel terrible because Emma only got dressed at 11am this morning. Nathan has been pretty good, has cried out a few times during his sleep but seems to be ok. Since putting him on formula, he is getting used to the whole new "poo" thing. But at least it's an improvement from what we had before.

His curtains are getting installed today so his nursery will be completely finished and no longer Emma's room, which still makes me sad. God I am ridculous! rolleyes.gif

Have also started thinking about selling things since Nathan is our last child like my maternity clothes etc.... Am trying to sell his swing atm. He hates it!

Thought I would share a photo I took of him on Mother's Day wub.gif

We had a lovely mother's day spent at my Mum's with hubby's sister, her hubby and our 6 month old nephew. I was truly spoiled. Nina gave me a little girl pandora charm, Mum gave me a pink pandora bead and my sister gave me a book about being a Mummy. We had a BBQ and hubby did the salads so neither Mum or I had to - it was awesome.

Nina was weighed late last week and had put on 430g in 8 days!
The nurse was astounded.
I am SO happy given all my body has been through my milk is obviously enough and she is doing so well.

Nina is being weird today. I fed her at 8 and she settled by 9, fed her again at 11.30 and she settled by 12.30-I'm not complaining but it's not like her to be so good in going off to sleep!

Hubby gave me a couple of hours catch up sleep last night- he took her after I fed so I feel quite good today - I in turn let him sleep in this morning - til midday - I'm such a good wife!
