Carrie Bradshaw and friends have a summer date. A summer release date.

The Sex and the City big-screen sequel will hit theaters May 28, 2010, the box-office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations noted Wednesday.

The prime Memorial Day weekend slot positions Sex and the City 2 not only as a summer blockbuster, but as counterprogramming to the big-budget adventure Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, also set for May 28, 2010.

The romantic-comedy franchise at least has the blockbuster part down: Last year's first Sex and the City movie, bringing a wide-angle lens to the 1998-2004 HBO series, grossed $415 million worldwide off a $65 million budget.

As reported in February by E! News' Marc Malkin, all four Sex stars—Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon—are set and signed for the sequel, as is writer-director Michael Patrick King.

What really shocked me with the last episode was how Samantha turned 50 and looked SO fabulous. But dumped Smith in the end. That was kind of sad. I mean how long can you sleep around with 20-30 year olds like that for? But then again, I suppose most of us wont look that fantastic at 50!

I loved Carrie and Big's apartment. It was just amazing. I want one like that too!!

I think it was good of Miranda to forgive Steve though.

Not sure what will happen in the new movie. I think I read something somewhere about one of the characters dying. That would be interesting.

My fingers and toes are crossed though that they DONT make a story line with Carrie preggers, so not fitting with their characters and thats what lots of people are saying its about

At least if they do make Carrie pregnant she will be the best dressed Mum!!
I just hope it is realistic if she is and she doesn't totter around on those massive heals while 9 months preggers, that may be a bit unbelievable!

I hope there's not pregnancy in store for Carrie, it's just not "her" but I just don't see where else they can go with her and Big.

One of the characters die?

I'm in two minds about the new movie. I was, and still am a huge fan of the series, and the movie was great, but to me, it;s all been done, what else is there to do, will Carrie and Big break up, and make up again? A pregnancy feels a bit unrealistic, but who knows. Of course I will line up to see it, but I think they should have ended it on a high after the 1st movie.

I don't know about this one - I was a bit disappointed in the first movie. I'm like others who have said I'd prefer another series, I just don't know if movie length suits the style and humour. Of course I'll watch it though.

I remember when the last SATC movie came out we had a girls night out, dinner and then the movie. Even had a moment when we were all striding down the street in our finest, arm in arm just like the characters. LOL I know it's tragic, but we loved it

So, this may have to be another girls night out! It's likely to take some military planning, as we'll have a newborn by then, but I think I'm up for it Or I could be kidding myself about life with a new baby, so we'll see

Thats all part of the fun i think, i woud have loved to do that. I watched it by myself at the cinemas as my birthday present to me, we were in England i knew noone, hubby wouldnt come and i really wanted to see it

I saw the first with my Mum and Sister. And then in the last couple of months watched it again on dvd with 4 girlfriends while the men occupied the children outside


I think for the second one..........will definitely have to go Gold Class with the girls and really make something of it.

I remember being pregnant with Liam and watching the first movie. I bawled when Charlotte had her baby.

One rumour, and it is just a rumour is that Big and Carrie move to London and the GFC hits and Big loses his job and has an affair. Carrie returns to NY and discovers she is pregnant.

Of course I could be totally wrong but a girlfriend mentioned this to me the other day.

Just so you guys know..... the may release date is the US date.

It will come out here June 3.

I have watched the trailer and am so excited, I love sex and the city the series and the first movie and cant wait for the second one. I am hoping to organise with my sister to see it on the opening night!!

Cant wait to see what happens with Aiden and Carrie, as much as I wouldnt want her to cheat, just on principle, I am still trying to get over Big leaving her at the alter in movie 1!!!!
