I want to be able to convert / edit a PDF file so I can type on it and e-mail it back to someone.
Can anyone tell me how I can do this?

I don't think you can. Might be best to copy the whole thing, paste in word, make the changes then PDF the word doc.

Unless the document was created in Adobe you will not be able to edit it. If it was it can be edited, however you will need Adobe writer as apposed to reader. You have to buy Adobe writer though, its not free like reader.
Maybe serach the web to see if there are any free PDF editing programs out there you can download maybe.
If it was scanned into a PDF file then you will need to change the original (or a copy of the original) and then scan that to PDF.
