Hi Ladies,

I would like your advice on which setting you would prefer.. I have included the below pictures although the settings can vary from how they look in these pictures on these size diamonds.
e.g. the frame setting you can get quite thin so it's not as prominent or the claw setting can stick out and be more pointer or flat.

Thanks for your opinions smile.gif

So hard to find exact pictures but this gives u an idea..

I have more pictures to post but don't think it will allow me to until others post. Feel free to add any pictures if you like smile.gif
especially if you have a particular setting yourself.

This is mine - i think it could be less likely to get caught on things eg: stockings, jumpers etc - as the claw's aren't sticking up?! But i dunno - i've never had the alternative wink.gif

What are you getting done / made?

I'm not really a claw setting sort of girl, so I voted for the L setting. I think it compliments the diamond and makes it look a little bigger.

Thanks girls..

I was originally for the claw but I was also basing it on a slightly different design (not a solitaire, it has diamonds all over the ring).

I am looking at getting a new ring and picked out a diamond and setting. ohmy.gif and a matching band with princess cut diamonds in it to compliment. I went for the L setting but very fine and thin so it looks like the diamond is floating.. it hasn't been made yet so I'm just looking around to confirm my ideas smile.gif and thought who better to get advice off than the I do gals!

My husband is still for the points though, I think he's the one giving me doubts laugh.gif

I think for a princess cut, the L frame is prettier - it looks more clean and streamlined and doesn't detract from the diamond itself.

Please share pics when you get your ring! Sounds very pretty!

Dani - your ring is making me drool!!! smile.gif

I voted claw because I am biased laugh.gif Though my diamond is a brilliant cut (you know, the classica round shape with pointed end), I love how the claw setting allows the light to hit the diamond from all angles, and it sparkles like crazy under down lights!
Candy
laugh.gif Yes well with a round setting I would vote claw setting all the way!!

That is my E-ring lying down and my wedder standing up on the right, it sometimes gets caught on things, but I love it, it kind of frames the diamond.

I'm usually all for a claw setting but that frame setting one you posted is beautiful. As long as it is thin though because you don't want it to stand out. What you have described sounds gorgeous. Please show us piccies when it's done smile.gif
Hope
I can't vote sad.gif but I am another one that loves claw setting, mine is far more streamlined than the first claw pic posted, and I have never caught it on anything, I love it wub.gif
