I was in a car accident yesterday and had bianca in the car with me. I was told by police that its not recomended to put her back into it until I have it saftey tested.
If it fails The other driver will also have to replace that as well as the main repairs

My questions are..
Where do I get this done?
Does it cost?
How much?
How easily do the pass/ fail them?

And I will add Bianca and I are fine, a little sore but all good considering

I am not sure but a friend of mine was advised after an accident not to use car seat at all - she had to hand it into her insurer (NRMA) and get a new one - maybe ring your insurer and ask?

my sister had an accident with my kids in the car. her insurer told her that it was bullshit basically and they would not cover new carseats. we took them down to the John Hunter Hospital and had them check it out in the safety thingy they have there. the guy said that nrma will tell you to get them changed no matter what type of accident it is. He said it depends on the type of accident you have. Ours were ok but i was pissed at my sister insurance company for there response.

Britax (Safe and Sound) will replace theirs if it's a severe crash. More info here:

FAK When DH had his accident at the start of the year our insurance company replaced the seat (Jack wasn't in the car at the time). I personally would have happily paid to replace it if the insurance company didn't, the only way you'll ever find out if the seat has been compromised is when it fails in another accident and that wasn't a risk we were prepared to take.
