I am totally stuck, I am generally a really great present giver find the best gift for the person however I am stuck now.
Its for my bestfriend - bit of a background, she had a baby just on the 25th of Nov. first time mum, we have been having a few 'issues' over the past y ear or so, but am definately trying to make the effort to get things back on track. She's 23, she does like wine but she Breastfeeding...
I don't really know what she would like - I know what I would of liked when my baby was a bit little last year, but I want to get her something different.
Any ideas?
Oh and throw some ideas at me for their XMAS presents too!! Her and her partner - I already have her son's present covered.
TIA
.Samantha.

Sounds like she could use some pampering.
How about a gift certificate for a spa or a pedicure.

I agree with Sam! Pampering is totally the order of the day! Maybe a spa pedicure! Heaven on a stick!!

The pampering is a great idea...or even a voucher for cinemas (gold class if you want to spend a bit more) or for a nice restaurant? Most of them are valid for around 12 months, so she won't need to use them right away, but might give her some time out with partner/friends that she might not otherwise get around to?
Or perfume is always nice, I bought my friend once a new version of scrabble because she loves trivia or board games.

I thought about the pampering voucher...it will definately be a last minute gift if I can't get something else.
But I want the gift to be taht little bit more..like "Lets wipe it clean and start if afresh..."
I am pretty sure her partner is getting her perfume, and she got us gold class vouchers last xmas (I always tease her a bit, because she gave us the vouchers and no offer to baby sit..so they are just sitting here even now....)
Any other ideas?

I always like the idea of a hamper type gift.
For example you could put in there:
Nail polish
lip gloss
hair ties - if she has long hair
chocolates
coffee
tea
homemade goodies
plain singlet (I love a good singlet)
thongs
sun hat
book
mag
bath bombs
etc
and I am thinking you could put it all in one of those clear beach type bags, or maybe in a really nice bowl, or even just a pretty box
I love lots of little gifts.
Not sure what you could get them as a couple, I don't even know what DH and I want.

Oh LeeLee, that sounds like a good idea! I think I might just do that..that shows effort too..
Yea I am stumped for the two of them...was thinking a personal chef so they could have a lovely meal cooked for them at home, but by golly that isn't cheap..

A few of you have mentioned the pampering / spa voucher, cinemas etc... sounds nice but in all honesty, when you are breastfeeding a newborn bub, it will be near impossible for her to take even an hour out to have some pampering, even if she has a good babysitter. I got one for my birthday 2 months after having a bub, and I still haven't had a chance to use it... and that's with the spa 100 meters down the road at the end of our street!! It's about to expire too!! Lovely gift, and I'm desperately in need of some grooming but that's all on hold until Harry's a little less dependent.
Definately get her something for herself... a nice pamper hamper that she could use at home with soaps, body lotions, a nice perfume etc.
Another idea would be some beautiful stationary from Kikki K... they have some gorgeous 2009 diaries and she's going to need something to write down all those playgroup dates, doctors appointments for immunistations, child heath check ups etc. They also have gorgeous pens, notebooks, recipe folders etc. (Just something I know I'd use and appreciate).
Good luck and let us all know what you end up getting her!!

I love Lee Lees' idea
One I know I would love, especially with a brand new little one is a voucher for a professional portrait sitting.
Can be expensive but Im sure you would be able to find an up and coming photographer looking to expand their portfolio.
Or maybe printing one of her existing favourites onto canvas
