I have always loved my tupperware can opener, but in the last 6 months or so we seem to be having alot of trouble with it.

I don't know if it's damaged, or if some cans are dodgy?

If anyone has one, can they please have a look at theirs for me.

When you look at the bottom of it, you know the round part that sticks out, that goes on the outer rim of the can, it has a black ring in the middle of it.
Does your sit flush with the base of the can opener? or does it sit on an angle ?

Ours doesn't sit flush and am wondering if this is why it doesn't open some cans very well.

Hope someone can be of assistance. As you can imagine, with the cost of them and hubby getting the sh*ts with it everytime he goes to use it, I doubt I will be able to buy a new one from Tupperware unsure.gif

Mine sits flush Amy.
You might be covered by the Tupperware guarantee? Worth looking into so you don't have to pay for a new one smile.gif

Thanks Ez. We have had ours too long and I don't believe the can openers are covered by their guarantee sad.gif

I remember asking about the can opener at my last tupperware party because I was considering getting one but from memory, she said the steel parts aren't covered under the life time warrantee as they're not actually tupperware IYKWIM? It would still be worth asking a consultant though! How annoying, they're pretty expensive.

I'm not at home so can't look at mine, but I know that I've been having trouble with some tins lately. Some go through really easy, and some are really hard. I've mainly noticed its like the aldi ones, maybe they have a different kind of metal or is a different width. I have noticed though that if I go around it a few times it makes it better.

ditto!

we do have trouble with some others though.

Last night was whole tomatoes from Aldi. I ended up having to turn it over and open it from the bottom while putting alot of pressure on it (hubby had already stuffed the top)

i've noticed some trouble opening the occasional aldi can (some products but not others)

The can opener is covered by a Q guarantee, which is only 30 days.
