hi all,

ive been ringing a million places and most are saying should be fine to get tulips but will need a back up plan if something would go wrong. im worried now as these were part of my theme.... eeek.

i have one woman who is not saying need back up plan but she is not cheap either so its either they want have back up plan or they want too much money. omg what am i gonna do now as i love tulips and this theme was set on the colours of the tulips etc etc.

I had tulips and was told you can get them at any time of year but it might just cost you extra if they aren't really in season. There are also more than one type of tulips so you could see which might be easier to get.

i know tynte at north adl won't sell tulips if the day is over a certain temperature either (least they wouldn't one stinkin hot day i rang to order a bunch) cos tulips are cold weather flowers and wilt and open up in the heat more than some other flowers

i would have thought surely you could still have them if you really wanted, like you said might cost a bit more though. have the florists given you any suggestions for alternative flowers that could still fit your theme?

I had tulips and my wedding was the end of August. It was a warm day and they started to open as soon as they were delivered. Luckily they survived but weren't the nice tight buds like I had wanted, they still looked beautiful though. I would seriously think twice about using them in October. As the other ladies have said you also will quite possibly pay a premium for them as they will be going out of season.

A friend of mine had a march wedding and had chosen tulips but had to pick something as a back up plan just incase. Although it had been raining all week it ended up being extremely hot on the day and she had to go with the back up plan due to the heat, they just won't hold up!

hi all,

well things have changed heaps since i last was one here... due to the reception centre we wanted we had to change the date to may 2010 which im annoyed about but happy i got the reception smile.gif anyways also have changed the flower due to the fact it will open up and not be the tight bud we all love.

I decided to go with the oriental lily the big one. i will have the smaller one maybe throughout the bouquet but not sure yet.

another option could ahve been artificial flowers.
