Hello all,

My mum is having a problem finding something to wear for my wedding. It is going to be a beach ceremony in January, so will (hopefully) be hot and she would therefore like to wear something summery, but also dressy. Does anyone have any pictures that they could post for inspiration???

Thanks smile.gif

p.s she is also walking me down the aisle/beach access and giving me away - so I really want her to look special - like she is smile.gif

If recommending a business pls use the PM facility thank you Tory at i-do

I am having trouble with this also. My mum is not really young, but she's not old either, and I find that a lot of the MoB outfits stocked in stores seem to cater to an older mother.

Does anyone have any suggestions of stores (or online) that has funky looking MoB stuff?

Maybe try Laura K (which is Mr K's MOB range). They seem to have both younger and older options.

My outfit at Sara's wedding over 3 years ago was an Alfred Angelo. Basically it was a long straight skirt, with a sleeveless top that was covered in sequins. It was all in a sky blue colour.
I'm not an old mum either, I was 48 when Sara got married, and I didn't want a matronly dress either.
I bought mine from the shop where Sara got her dress.

We had a very casual wedding, mum wore a pale olive green gathered, tired skirt and an ivory linen sleeveless top with a asian collar. Mum was the one who did the "something borrowed" at my wedding smile.gif She borrowed my silver necklace to wear with her green stone.

Here's what my Mum wore. Not really beachy, but it suited our day smile.gif

My mum got some stuff from Anthe@ Cr@wford as well, and is getting some dress pants to suit.

Puggie your mum looks stunning, that colour suits her so well!

MOB is a hard one - I know my mum stressed out for ages about it.

She is really out there and has her own style, so didnt end up going for any of the tradtional type outfits. This is her, my mum also walked me down the aisle and we had a spring wedding:

We had a butterfly theme so her outfit was perfect with it Japenese style butterfly print

Thanks smile.gif I bought her a pair of green sapphire earrings to match as a surprise thank you gift, so was a bit panicked when the morning of the wedding she nearly decided to wear a gun metal grey outfit wink.gif

Stacy - happy your Mum has found something she likes and which goes with your theme! Another thing you can cross off your to-do list wink.gif

We recently found my Mum's outfit in D@vid J0n3s... beautiful outfit, lacy like we wanted, and for a reasonable price... it is also something she can wear again - so it doesn't just stay in the wardrobe!! smile.gif

I don't have pics but Noni B sell Liz Jordan outfits. They sell a range of styles to suit all sorts of occasions and a beach wedding would be one of them. eg 3 piece outfit with floaty skirt, camisole and light crossover top in swirls of different shades of blue/green/aqua. Nice enough for MOB but casual enough to wear afterwards

cheers Sheila

My mum is giving me away at our garden ceremony at a winery and she's wearing a black halterneck dress.

My only request was that she wore black and that it was a 3/4 or long dress. She picked out the rest and she loves it!

We're getting married in February so a dress is perfect.

We got her dress from a popular wedding and bridesmaid dress store here in Adelaide smile.gif

My mum shopped there too! I think it's a real "mother of the bride" store but a bit pricey.
There's no way H2B's mum could have afforded anything with those price tags...
