Hello Lisa,

One word, Google. Or go to a library and hire a book on flower arranging.

Also, have you tried a search here? I am pretty sure other people have talked about DIY bouquets.

Good luck! smile.gif

PS: I am also going to do my own flowers, I found great instructions on a website I found though Google, I think it's call How to DIY just about anything!

After a $480(!) quote for my bouquet alone I decided to do my own too. It was really very easy. I got 7 dozen roses from a farmers market/wholesale place in Perth for $70. All I had to buy was some wire and the green tape that you wrap around the wire; and then some pretty ribbons. All up I think it was under $100. Although I only did my bouquet and only had one brdesmaid. I was going to do the corsages and the button holes but ran out of time so I ended up buying them the day before.

So you just stick the end of the wire through the base of the rosebud (about a cm) and then wind it down around the stem. Cover the wire with the green tape and thats it. Once they are all done you just stick them together like you are doing a flower arrangement and tape them all up with the green tape. I think I just read a book from the library beforehand but just 'made it' up on the day. I got heaps of compliments on them so they must've looked ok!

what flowers do you intend on using. For my friends wedding she bought 2 boxes of singapore orchids and one box made her bouquet (just bundled them into a spray and secured with elastic bands and covered with ribbon) and also corsages and buttonholes, 8 in total. we used really thin wire, ribbon and pearl head dressmakers pins. easy-peasy. Decide on which flowers and then google. Have fun.

Heres a great DIY resource: HERE

If you have time, TAFE does the best flower arranging adult learning course.

6 weeks and you will be a pro. It also might help with table centrepeices if you are interested.

I thought it was just great fun.
