Hi gals,
Im about to ask something really silly but here goes...

For some reason I am completely stressed about flowers which is really weird - its like I have diverted all stress in my life into this one little area of choosing a bouquet - its the last area I ever thought I would even care about but its driving me insane!

ANyway my question is about bouquets - what style did most of you have? Im having this bizarre thought that if I go for a posy and its kind of round that it will look like a 3rd boob and make them look super extra round and big! Have I totally lost the plot? (hmm I think I have...)

My dress is going to be stunning - similar to Lonis but imagine someone much larger than her. (gorgeous figure she has!) I have to choose between a teardrop or a looseish posy - and I love the idea of a posy - if the boob issue wasnt bugging me! ALso what size bouquets did you all have?

Thanks,
Jo (gawd I am shaking my head at myself lol)

(PS I posted here not in flowers because its the size issue that is bugging me and I hoped someone would understand!!!)

I chose my bouquet style based on my dress.
Its slimline with no 'poofiness', so I chose an elongated, unstructed cascading arrangement of coloured roses.

I've always thought that if you're wearing a big skirt, go with a posy. BUT, if you're worried it will make you look bigger, I'd choose something like what I've got. It's not structured or 'tight' like your traditional teardrop. More long, flowy and romantic. It draws the eye to look down to the end of the bouquet, rather than focusing on one spot.

Sorry if I've crapped on a bit, just wanted to be descriptive laugh.gif !!

Being in the same frame of mind/situation, im leaning towards having something tapered in a bouquet.

are you able to post a pic of you in your dress?

Hehe. I understand where you're coming from biggrin.gif

I intentionally went for a large, trailing bouquet. I thought a smaller, tight bouquet would just make me look bigger. I figured I'm a bit bigger, so let's keep it all in proportion wink.gif

Also - I think because of the lace of my jacket, a larger, longer bouquet suited.

I think when I get to that point, I will also look at a longer bouquet just to give a bit of height. I love the thought of a posy, but I remember when I was a BM I had a small posy and it was basically lost because of my size.

Puggies bouquet is just gorgeous. smile.gif

Good luck choosing!

Thanks girls - I am so glad someone understands where I am at !!!

Puggie you looked stunning and your flowers were just divine!

This is what I think I will go for probably the teardrop shape, though I do so love posy styles - damn my roundness!!! LOL They are a mix of cymbidiums and phalaenopsis.

My florsit told me to go with a longer style tear drop shaped boquet as it would not get lost on me and wouldn't make me look bigger than i was !

A good florist will ensure that your bouquet is in proportion to your body size. If a petite bride has a bouquet that is too big, she will get lost in it. If a larger bride has a bouquet that is too small, she can actually end up looking curvier than she actually is.

Teardrop bouquets or bouquets with trails will make you look taller and give you a longer line. If you have trails, you will need to ensure that they are sufficiently long enough, or else you will look "chopped off".

I recommend talking with your florist about your concerns. You can ask your florist to create a mock bouquet for you, have some photos taken with it and see how it looks.

I had a bouquet of roses with jasmine trails.

Gorgeous Vik!

Thanks so so so much everyone. My florist hadnt been particularly helpful with the questions I asked which was why I was unsure - her flowers are great though! I shall organise to meet her and determine the size etc.

Most of the time I am really happy and comfortable with my shape - when I am super stressed though little things like this can make me feel really self-conscious. To be honest I know noone would even notice - I cant say I have ever looked at a bride and thought wow those flowers make her boobs look bigger and make her seem larger.... amazing how our insecurities can show up! lol

Anyway, thanks for the advice - thats now everything except the bra sorted smile.gif
