I am browsing some DVD's on ebay and I was wondering what Region 4 meant if anyone can help me?
Region 4 DVDs cover Australia, NZ, PNG and most of South America.
DVD players that are sold in region 4 usually only play region 4 DVDs, unless you have a universal player that will play DVDs for all regions.

Also be careful - on some computers you can only play region 4 DVDs but you are allowed a handful of changes. If you change it too many times, it's locked on whichever region's DVD you last played.

Well, having a fiance who knows too much about technology, the regions on DVD's generally mean where they can be played. Different countries have different region encoded DVD players and can only play DVD's from their own country. I think it's to prevent people from pirating from overseas and that kind of stuff. We're region 4. I think the US is region 1, and so on. Some things (such as DVD players) aren't region encoded and so they can play anything.
