Just out of curiosity, how many people have let H2B see their dress, and who has been traditional with "it's a secret until the big day"?
H2B will probably see mine anyway since we have to travel, and it's a bit hard to pack it without him noticing! ohmy.gif

Nope, he didn't see it, and had no inclination to see it either!

We actually picked it up together from my couturier on the Wednesday before but it was in a huge garment bag.

My H2B hasn't and won't see my dress either! I'm going to store it my MOH's house (once it arrives)!

He really wants to know what I'm wearing, but also wants a surprise on the day... At the moment the surprise factor is winning out! biggrin.gif

No way!

We're travelling too, but I'll be carrying my dress with me on the plane in a white garment bag (the lady in the shop almost had kittens when I suggested putting it in a suitcase smile.gif ) so there is no need for him to actually see it.

H2B and I live together and there is nowhere else I could leave it but at at our place (all family and friends are interstate) so I'm hoping to only pick it up a couple of weeks/days before the wedding, then put it in the spare room but make sure H2B is never home alone to go snooping (not that he would anyway - he wants it to be a surprise).

Its not so much the tradition or bad luck or anything, just that I want the first time he sees it to be on me, walking down the aisle about to become his wife.

Absolutely no way, but that's a luxury I have because I don't have to travel like you.

Knowing your situation, this may be a dumb question, but is there anyone else that can take it there for you?

Otherwise you would have to have it in a garment bag. He may get an idea of the shape of the skirt - like if the bag is really full he'll know its a big skirt! But it will still be a surprise.

Even if he does see it, its a whole 'nother story when you are wearing it, and walking up the aisle towards him.

I've found it really hard not to talk about with H2B. We talk about everything, its hard to keep my mouth shut and not let anything slip!!

Scott wishes that he could see the dress before the wedding, it is killing him not knowing... He won't be seeing until he see me walkign down the ailse.

It is really hard not being able to tell him cause it is the one secret that I have ever had to keep from him. I pick up my dress a week before the wedding and I have to keep at out place as I have no family in Sydney and most of my friends have little bubbas, cats or dogs. I have to put a lock on the spare bedroom door so he doens't look cause I know he will be very tempted too... laugh.gif

There is NO WAY Ian is going to see my dress.

I've sort of had to slip what colour it is, matching the tie etc.

But he's not going to see the dress until he sees me alking down the aisle.

In fact, he leaves the room if I accidentally start talking about it.

Cheers,

Amanda

Yep, he helped me pick it. But he hasn't see it with all the accessories (although my veil is currently hanging off the curtains in our living room) and the last time he saw it was when I brought it home. It's been in the cupboard since, and soon I'll get it cleaned and then take it to mum's where it'll stay until I have to put it on. I could wear trackydaks and he'd still marry me. smile.gif

All Hubby knew about my dress was that it was strapless (he heard my SIL talking about it), but he didn't get to see it until the big day! Soooo worth it because the tears in his eyes when I walked up the aisle melted my heart! smile.gif

H2B hasn't seen my dress and won't til he sees me walking down the aisle! He's hanging to know what it's like but he's told me I'm not allowed to tell him. All he knows is it's white and goes to the ground. It's so hard not to talk about it with him, and sooo many times I have just caught myself in time before I've said something about it!

My H2B hasnt seen it, and wont see it until the day. He doenst want to though. He knows I will have the big meringue thingie, but thats all he knows. I dont think he will care what I am wearing anyway.

My dress is huge, and the lady at the dress shop was laughing, saying his first reaction is going to be, "Now how am I going to get her out of that???"

I guess I'm lucky then cos Yen won't go dress shopping without me. She insists I come with her.

Even the other day, we met up with a couple of friends who are engaged too, and the female friend wanted Yen to go dress shopping with her. Yen really wanted me to come along too but knew I couldn't cos I had to keep the other H2B occupied since he wasn't allowed to see his B2B's dress!

My H2B saw the drees on the website when i first saw it. At the time we had a different idea for the theme of our wedding so this dress didn't fit into it and i showed him the photo on the web just because i thought it was a cool dress. Since then we have decided on a 70's theme and now this dress is perfect! He doesn't know that its this one but he will recognise it as soon as he sees it. rolleyes.gif
