Hi all,

I have had a lot of problems with the decoration companies I have been calling so have now decided to do it myself.

do you know of anywhere that I can pick up some really large martini glasses that i can pop some floating candles in. i have seen these 1 metre high ones but the company wants $80 per glass to hire and on top of that it has taken them over two months to get me a quote so I am too scared to use them for the wedding.

actually any place that has glass vases, or floating candle bowls would be great. i am in Sydney.

thanks!

im not decorating my place, but was just looking around a few places from g00gle (god bless thee) and they had HEAPS, just be specific because it will give a lot of party hire place that dont tend to have dainty wedding things. Patties Hire is always a winner though, goo rep i think. try yellowpages.com.au as well

I just remembered about Patti's Hire as well. Give them a try. They are supposed to be quite good.

Moreton Hire
InStyle
Dancetime Hire

So many places have these things as well as many of the cheap shops around like Hot Dollar

For Large Vases I would definatly look into like the reject shop and liquidators stores, they have a lot of that cheap, large glassware that is very in expensive and although wouldn't stand up in your home everyday, would be perfect for a one night occassion like this. Last time I was in one of those places getting craft things I saw these huge vases that were almost waist height. THose kind of places are just worth a look.

As for the martini glass thing, is this the kind of thing your looking for?

thanks everyone. I will have a look at your suggestions this week.
though I did find this lovely set of three candle holders, which is a bit different to what I originally wanted but still think it will work well.
I have roughly set it up (no candles) and it is in my pics if anyone is interested. The shotglasses represent where the tea lights will be.

I think it looks great. They will look even better when the candles are lit and will go well with the crystal beading. Also it adds a little bit of height. very good. biggrin.gif
