Austar and Free to Air, no ch 7,9 or 10!!! Options

Hi everyone
it has been ages since my last post but we have finally settled into new house thank goodness, but I do have a problem.........

Our house is in a really poor reception area due to being really low down in a small valley ( I have to walk up the hill to get mobile reception!)
The previous tenants installed Austar in order to get some tv reception so naturally we had a technician come out to reconnect the service for us (previously on Foxtel so no reason to think Austar would be any different)

All done, too many chanels to chose from, Lifestyle for me Sports for DH BUT WAIT!!!!!!!!!
Free to Air Channels available are
ABC
SBS
..............
yup
thats it
NO ch7
NO ch9
NO ch10

it has now been 6 weeks since my regular rendevous with Larry Emdur and the gang WHAT CAN I DO???

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the other FTO channels using the Austar satellite or do we have to get a seperate dish to tune into the Optus Aurora thingy for Imparja etc ( which I doubt we'll get as neigbours on hill get fine reception so it is not as if we live in a classified "remote area!!!)

any advice would be great as it has been all a little confusing trying to search through websites to find a definitive answer

i have friends in Wollongong who don't have any free to air because of their satelite dish, but they've just never bothered to do anything about it.

but i would much rather have my ABC & SBS than just the commercial stations!

We have Foxtel Digital and because we are satellite and not cable we don't get our free to air channels through there but we do get ABC & SBS.

The reason we don't according to Foxtel is because Channel 7 is the only channel yet to sign the agreement for satellite subscribers to receive these channels through foxtel.

So until they do we get those normally if that makes sense?
