Oh, we had the BEST day! It was SOOOO much fun! The weather was fantastic, the rain stayed away, and Dylan was just a perfect little man.

He was very stylishly attired in his Monsoon Boy t-shirt that arrived from the UK at Christmas time. All I can say is thank goodness that they don't have it here, as we would soon go broke! wink.gif

He was awake from 10am until nearly 3pm, and played nonstop from 10am until 2.30 pm. He didn't eat much lunch, but that was because he kept pulling his "I'm very hungry" face and nicked lots of food from people's plates! I've since discovered that he can eat whole grapes, loves strawberries and is very keen on chippies. Shame he won't be having them again, and wouldn't have had them if big kids hadn't fed them to him! smile.gif

We had guests turning up all day from 10.30 am and the last guests left at 2.30 pm, and Dylan just kept on dancing, partying, playing and smiling his way through the whole lot. We had kids ranging from eight years old to one-week-overdue!

Miss Mackenzie was a big hit at the party - all the adults just thought she was such a pretty little princess - and they're right, of course!

The birthday cake was a success - although it didn't feel like that the night before when I had electric blue icing all over the entire kitchen! Mark had to perform some delicate surgery too to transfer the cake from one board to another, so it would fit inside the plastic cake storer. Good gods, I was having kittens! Thank you, Mr Woolworths for your baking! We made a one shape from a sponge cake and decorated it with Pooh Bear PopOnz.

There is something magical about birthday cake, isn't there. The kids had unlimited chips, popcorn, lollies, juice, fruit, etc, but they swarmed like a hive of bees when they saw the cake! Dylan tried to catch the candle flame - arrgh!

And spoilt?! Oh my goodness - I have never seen anything like it! He opened all his family presents from overseas in the morning, then opened all his party presents (actually, there was another swarm of bees for that!) during the party. He actually got sick of paper and presents and kept running off to play. Fortunately, there was no shortage of willing helpers! After his afternoon nap, he opened all his presents from Mummy and Daddy.

We gave him a Harrods 2004 bear, a Harrods cuddly zebra, a stuffed Nemo, loads and loads of books, including Mem Fox's "Where is the Green Sheep?" - I love this one! - a Poppity Pop truck, Ocean Peekablocks and My First Thomas toys.

Some of the presents he got was a shape sorter toy, a shape sorter box of eggs with cheeping chickens inside (like on the Baby MacDonald DVD!), a toy phone (he took calls all day yesterday!), some very cool Rollarounds, a Tigger suit, lots of books, a money box, My First Thomas toys, LeapFrog Alphabet Pal, clothes, puzzles, and loads and loads of other stuff.

Fortunately, we're having a Mother's Group combined birthday party next weekend, so we have a gigantic box filled with leftover party food, party decorations and bits and pieces. Otherwise, we'd be eating jelly snakes for the next five years!

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely birthday wishes. I am still in denial that my little baby is now a one-year old, but there really is no doubt. Someone stole our baby months ago! smile.gif

You're right about there being no denying you have a one year old there - he's such a little boy and there are no signs of baby left smile.gif

He was so much fun to watch - he really had a great time at his party and I think that's the most important thing.

Congratulations to you and Mark for making it through the year and for producing such a gorgeous little human being.

Love Hana xxx
