I am getting married to the most amazing and most perfect man for me. I feel like Jerry Macquire, he really completes me.

I actually proposed to him, after rejecting his proposal first, sounds mean, but I didn't know he was being serious, given the setting in which he asked. But he got down on one knee right after I asked him and asked me right back, totally amazing, and can not wait to tell our babies and grandbabies of how Mummy and Daddy got engaged.

We have been together for a while, but been friends for a few years. Friends first is always the best IMO.

Anyway, we haven't set a date as yet because we have so much more going on, we are taking our first overseas holiday in early 2012, which we are considering to be our pre-marriage honeymoon. And babies, so which comes first, the chicken or the egg?

So hopefully soon we will have a final plan set so it can be full steam ahead, not that that has really stopped the planning process, but has an added elimate of frustration without being able to firm anything, book anything, order anything... you get my drift.

We have decided on a beach side wedding, which kind of narrows down the months in which we can plan for.
Can't decide on flowers, but through other threads it kind of help when you have a style of dress, but I am a bit hesitant to get the dress until I get in to my wedding/holiday body shape.
But I think frangipanis with lillies could be a good option, considering our colours are to be black, white and yellow, and also considering location.

I get so impatient, things don't move quickly enough, words I am likely to regret.
So any other newbies on here I would love to share and bounce ideas off.

Can't wait to hear other ladies stories.

Yay to setting a date! I loved the planning process of my wedding, I found it so much fun!

You will find heaps of great ideas and people who can help you out if you want to ask questions, so don't be afraid to ask I joined here in 2004 to plan my 2005 wedding and I am still here! LOL

Flowers are ordered! Huge relief it was just to have one thing checked off.
Looking at a venue in the coming weeks too, so hoping it's going to meet expectations as we kind of already are planning around that location.
Found a dress, to be custom made, my first experience so it's cause a little anxiety but I am going to stay positive as I do really love the dress.
Engagement party invites are being posted, so having a lot of fun putting together the outfit for that.
Looking for wedding bands/rings.
Small steps are still steps.
