Well we have our boys name set in stone, and we think we may have our girls name too.
DH is still a bit uncertain about it, but I thought I'd put it out there to see what others think, whether good or bad and if it goes with the twins names

So if we have a little girl, her name would be Malika Rose

What's your pronounciation on it? I immediately read it as 'Ma-lick-err' which to me sounds like she's licking something.

OK I'm going to be completely honest. I don't like it. And I really like your twins' names. It just seems very modern, whereas they have uncommon but classic names IYKWIM.

Sorry.

Pronouced Mal -lee-ka, that was DH's quim about the name, that pronounciation might be a problem with constantly having to correct it.

Thanks for your honesty ladies smile.gif

I immediately thought mah-leek-ah, and I love it. I think it's lovely, and I do think it goes nicely with the twins names too.

I know a Malika and think its nice. Rose is a pretty name but I am not sure they go together? One modern and one old.

What would happen if you made it Maleeka? That way everyone would pronounce it right?

I think it's very pretty but I'm now going to light a match.....

I figure that being a teacher I've had good experience at working out nasty nicknames and that whilst I'm not trying to put you off the name at all, if someone came up with a point I hadn't thought of then it's good and constructive.

Is it possible that she could get called: My leak-a (as in I need to go to the toilet?) blush.gif

I like it, and read it as it's pronounced.

I agree with Mel B that the twins have classic names whereas this one is more modern.

I don't think it matters (personally) but it is a point if you wanted 'matching' names in that sense..

I think it's pretty :-)

I've known two girls called Marika & of course there's the 80's pop star Martika but I've never heard Malika before. I think it's fine but you may get some people pronouncing it wrong as previously mentioned.
