We are having so much trouble picking a name for this Bub!
We have been given an indication of what sex it is, but as it's not open knowledge on the forum, I'll have to ask you ladies for suggestions for both Our daughter's name is Zahli (pronounced Zar-lee) and we obviously would like something to compliment this. We had quite a dilemma picking a name out for Zahli because alot of the girl's names we liked sounded funny with our surname. Our last name is quite short - 5 letters - It starts with a "B" and ends with "ra" On our list, we have: *Jake *Scott *Jett *Zephyr We are trying to decide whether to use my pop's 1st name as a middle name. His name is William, but I unfortunately don't think it would sounds right with any of the names on our list. *Amelie *Liliana *Scarlett *Yasmine *Imogen We are also totally undecided on a middle name. Can anybody give me some tips or websites to check out? Any suggestions from the names I've provided?? -------------------- |

On our list, we have: *Jake *Scott *Jett *Zephyr We are trying to decide whether to use my pop's 1st name as a middle name. His name is William, but I unfortunately don't think it would sounds right with any of the names on our list. *Amelie *Liliana *Scarlett *Yasmine *Imogen I think with your already list, that you couldn't use Zephyr with your last name, to me its a bit rhyme-y - I do like Jett from your boys name list. I found boys name to be very hard, but funnily enough as soon as we found out Bug was a boy, he was named within 10 mins! Straight away I love Amelie on your list and second would be Liliana. When I wanted inspiration, I googled Baby names, and it came up with some site about world baby names. I had "meanings" that I wanted my names to mean (Although both names mean nothing like what I wanted LOL) For example, I wanted Kaele's name to mean "Princess" or "Beautiful" and it doesn't mean either of these. I wanted my boys name to mean "Strong" - so I would put that into the meaning search, get rid of the countries/languages, I didn't want to use and go from there. As it turns out, neither of the names came from the net or anyone else, we kept our ear to the ground paying attention to other names and just bouncing ideas back and forth.. As for middle names, well I think if you want to use William it will work no matter what. -------------------- K&R - 260205 KBW - 031107 MAW - 220310 Love.Laugh.Live. |

I really like Jett from your boys list. I think Zephyr is too similar to Zahli TBH. I think William as a middle name would go with any of those on your list.
As for girls names, again, being honest, I love Amelie but it ends in the same sound as Zahli so I personally wouldn't use it. I wouldn't use Scarlett either as you will have Zah and Scar |

I like your taste in names e b! Jake was our angel baby and Imogen is the name of our newborn, so I think I'm a little biased in giving an opinion!

I like Jett. I think Jett William B..goes together nicely and I think Zahli and Jett sound good together.
I like Amelie but as others have said the end sounds the same as Zahli. Do you like Amelia?? I think either Amelia or Imogen would go nice with Zahli. -------------------- |

I love Jett William, trying to convince DH to change our boy name to that for any future boy we might have but he likes Ryan William better.
For a girl I probably like Yasmine and Imogen best and for some reason I think Jane would make a good middle name for both of them. Probably because I like pretty first names and strong middle names -------------------- Currently posting from DH's phone and tablet whilst my laptop is in PC hospital. Lovely name choices Elise!
For boy I think Jett fits the best, for Girl, I love Scarlett and Amelie, but I wonder whether Amelie and Zahli might be too similar with the 'ie' end to their names? I've been having trouble too and getting so over having to trawl the net for baby name sites! http://www.nymbler.com/ I found this site pretty good- you type in a name for inspiration and it comes up with similar names in a bit of a 'pot luck' random draw- makes searching through names a little less tedious! http://www.babynamewizard.com/namipedia/advanced-name-finder This one is pretty good if you want to specify a few parameters and comes up with some alright suggestions http://new.babynameindex.com Another ok one with some not so common names Good luck!! -------------------- |
