Hi Ladies,

I'm a November 2010 twinnie too. My wedding is on the 20th November...can you add me to the list too...thanks.

How's everyone's plans coming along?

We have arranged: Venue, celebrant (and written out the vows/ceremony), photographer, DJ, florist, make up artist and hair, I have ordered my gown, we have booked the cake...and now we are working on centrepieces etc. Oh and I have purchesed my wedding day garter and I'm on the hunt for some wedding shoes :-)

Oh wow, we've got a lot of girls on the 6th now! Wohoo!!

I've been busy with planning. I booked my hair and make-up yesterday. Also spent the weekend planning flowers with FHs florist Auntie. 4 bouquets, 5 button holes, 3 corsages, plus table centre pieces will only cost max $250 if they can get the flowers at retail price, and even less if she can get them at wholesale.

I also have my quote for the ceiling canopy and fairy lights, which I need to confirm.

although I'm a little annoyed at the moment coz I just got my receipt from my ceremony venue in the mail and he reckons we shorted them $100 so he reduced the bond by $100 so we'd only get $400 back instead of $500, but the ass didn't realise we didn't want rain insurance which is what he's taken the extra $100 for. So I don't know whether to let it slide or email him back and say he made the mistake and we don't want the rain insurance... it just means if it rains we're screwed coz we're getting married in a garden, lol. The insurance basically means we can use the hall on the premises, which is really tiny and I don't even think it will fit all our guests inside... so yeah, I'm not in a great mood now, lol

Miss Jen,

Re: your rain insurance...(I have never heard of that before). My initial feeling is that it's a really good back up to have. I mean it will take so much stress out of you worrying about the weather. I mean if you didnt have the insurance, where would you have your wedding? Like you said you would be "screwed". The option of having it in a small hall (in the event of rain) seems better to me than having NO options at all. If it were me, I'd maintain the $100 insurance smile.gif

Hey Miss Jen, my plans are all mixed up!
So far, we:
- have booked a photographer (and paid a deposit)
- have a guest list
- have selected our location (but yet to pay for it, must do that in the next 2 weeks)
- started making placecards (we are using origami paper cranes)
- contacted a caterer
- picked our Bridal Party (except DF is still to choose 1 groomsman)
- bought our BM's dresses

There are still so many things to do and so little cashflow!

How are your plans going?

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to this forum and also I'm getting married on the 13th. They say 13 is unlucky for some - but we cant wait! Can't beleive it is 6 months away!!

I'm slowly getting things together, we get married in Byron Bay and live in Brisbane so it is hard to organise to meet with suppliers. So far though, I have organised:

Venue
Caterers
Ordered Wedding dress!! biggrin.gif
confirmed celebrant
confirmed photographer
(think) I know what i am doing for invites / placecards / menues
(think) I know what I am doing for bonbonerries (sp?)
Getting quotes for Hair & Makeup and should have that booked by end of mnth
joined a gym!! blush.gif

So I am feeling pretty organised at the moment. the one thing I am stuck on is colours and BM dresses. We haven't got dresses yet and as we're heading into winter, all the dresses are dark - has anyone else found that? We're getting married in spring at the beach so would really like some nice light pastel or coral colours but cant find any.

How long do you think I can leave it before getting dresses??? I thought if we wait until July/August, new styles will come into shops for spring / summer.

Welcome Tennille, Ezmae and Wee One. I'm glad to hear I finally have some twinnies for the 13th biggrin.gif So exciting that it's less than 6 months away now! Sounds like everyone is well under way with their planning.

I'm at the stage where I am stuck trying to figure out what to do next... so far I have:

*Booked and paid for Ceremony venue
*Booked and paid deposit for Reception venue
*Ordered my dress
*Found BM dresses (ordering next week)
*Decided on flowers (Which FHs aunt is doing for us)
*Booked photographer (my brother)
*Booked and paid deposit for fairylight ceiling canopy and bridal table curtain
*Booked 1st appointment with celebrant
*Found FHs wedding ring (ordering in next 2 weeks)
*Booked hair and makeup on the day

I pretty much know what I want for the invites, just have to get together with my SIL, buy the stuff off her and start making. We have a rough guest list but I doubt it will differ much to the final one. There are a lot of people we dont expect to come but we will send invites to anyway.

Today I went out and bought the 4 fishbowls and 4 vases I need for table decorations, just need to get 4 or 5 terracotta pots for the last lot of decorations and I'm set there.

Also bought 4 photo frames to put our grandparents wedding photos in, 3 out of 4 sets of granparents are no longer alive and the 4th probably wont make it as grandpa has severe dementia and can't leave the house, so I thought it would be a nice way of having them there when they physically can't be.

Other than that I'm totally stuck, lol. I can't believe how fast it's coming up though! I swear it was still a year away not long ago, lol. It will be here before we know it!!

That is a really nice gesture for your grandparents. We have a similar situation with our grandparents, only 1 is alive and she is 95 and in NZ so wont be coming to the wedding. I didn't think of putting photos down, its very sweet.

Well, after complaining I couldn't find any colours of BM dresses - I found some in the Myer stocktake sale on at the moment. the dresses were $250, reduced to $150 and then 75% off that - it worked out to be $37.50 per dress!! I can't believe it! They're a nice 'ice blue' colour (which is similar to baby blue but with a bit of shimmer). We're getting married in Byron so it suits our beach theme. I've attached a photo of the dress. I super excited!! Now I can get all invites and favours sorted cause I have a colour theme!!

Aww thats so awesome, I LOVE your BM dresses, and what a bargain!! Well done! It's always a great feeling when you can cross something off your to-do list, and even better when its cheap, hehehe.

I hadn't actually thought about the photos until my Gran died last October, a couple of weeks after FH and I got engaged. We never actually got to tell her before she passed away and it was such a shock, even at 93 yrs old I never thought she wouldn't be there for the wedding so I thought it would be a nice way of including her... and our other grandparents who can't be there smile.gif

Hi again,

Quick question for november brides.... when are you getting your Hair and Makeup Trials?? Are you having a trial?

FH doesn't think I need a trial - he thinks you can just tell someone what you want on the day and they'll do it. I think I have finally convinced him by saying "what if they say they can do what I want, but really cant and I end up looking horrible on the day".

So, I booked in for a trial anyway and my my hair & makeup artist said the earlier the better so I've booked in JULY. Thats 3 mths before the wedding! She said it would be fine and the reason to do it early is: 1, it is the only weekend she has available and 2, if I am not happy with her I have time to find someone else (she did say that she doubts I will be unhappy!).

How early is too early to get trials done?

I dont think theres such a thing as too early! My SIL keeps laughing at me coz with 5 months to go I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get everything does asap and she organised her whole wedding in 3 months. I've been trying to figure out when I want my trial too. I was thinking of just waiting till the last month coz I need to get my hair coloured so i figured I'd just do it then. I thought about having it done the week before the wedding so then I can wear it all for my hens night but then I dont know if thats cutting it a bit close, lol.
