Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me....I thought I had this all figured out, and everyone was happy...Aparently not huh.gif

Originally we were having light pink bridesmaid dresses...I then changed my mind and have had my heart set on watermelon...I loved it, the girls loved it, FH loved it and so did my mum! I want something the girls are happy with and can wear again, especially since they're contributing $200 towards the dress!!!!

My mum tells me on the wekkend that she thinks the watermelon is to "gold coasty"...whatever the hell that is suppose to mean....She is suggesting navy mellow.gif Don't know whether I even like the colour navy or not...

I am wearing white, FH is wearing grey and GM are wearing charcoal....

Please let me know your thoughts....and suggestions on colours smile.gif

Thanks in advance, Erin

If you, your FH, and your BMs love it, then just go with it and ignore your mum. You can't make everyone happy, especially when they go changing their minds!

I agree, I think watermelon can be brisbaney too laugh.gif , your mum doesnt have to wear the dress, so go with what you your FH and your girls like!

If your mum isn't contributing to the dresses, then she doesn't have a say in what colour they are going to be IMO.

Perhaps just go ahead and order them in the colour you like, and in the meantime show her lots of pictures of different weddings with similar colours to yours so she can see that just because your girls are wearing a colour she associates with one thing, doesn't mean it will automatically look like that.

BTW, I think its going to look gorgeous and fresh! Navy might make your photos look heavy against the dark suits - has your mum thought about that?

I like both colours, my BM's are in a Sapphire (Navy) blue, so I could be biased.

The colours go well together, so maybe navy with a watermelon sash and underneath tulle or something

But if you have you heart set on it and you all like it - go with it.

Another thought i just had is to try a bridal site that allows you change the colours of the dresses - try dav1ds br1dal

give you and idea of what the dress would look like in both colours

I think the watermelon will be much more fresh & chic against the charcoal than navy. Trust your taste & instincts & leave mum to her old fashioned opinions wink.gif

I say go with the Watermelon and you will have no regrets! Any shade of Coral works with Grey. There is nothing wrong with Navy, but its a safe colour! Dare to be different. - If Watermelon is Gold Coasty, Navy is Melbourne.
Make sure you post pics!!!
