Any help here would be REALLY appreciated as I cant seem to find anything on the hotmail page to tell me how.

I've had an old email address hacked into by spammers, I rarely check it- and have seen that spammers have been sending out crap from my address- so I've just had the LOVELY task of emailing all of my contacts (including ex-boyfriends, friends I've had falling outs with) and telling them that no, I wasn't spamming them on purpose. mad.gif Argh.

Any of you clever girls know what I need to do to delete the account?

Under the options or setting section there is a close account function.

I used it the other month when my account was hacked.

Cxx

ETA - Go to options and then - account summary - and then settings - under 'additional options' is Close Account.

Log into your hotmail account.

On the bottom right of the page is an "Account" button. Go there.

Click on "Settings" under "Account Summary" (top left corner).

On this page there will be a menu headed "Common Tasks" on the right hand side. "Close Your Account" is one of these options. Click on this and follow the instructions.

It's hard to find and convoluted. I guess they don't want people to close accounts.

Good luck!

OMG blink.gif mine has been getting hacked too and so is Future Sister-In-Law's. When I'm logged on via chat my chat would disconnect saying I've logged onto a different place angry: I've just changed my Password but no "real emails" go to it, I really just keep it for MSN Chat purposes. I don't know how these people are doing it but it seems that MSN accounts are easily targetted.
