hi, have you looked into a lunch reception? this can drop prices heaps

but if you prefer a night sit down i can reccomend the Main Event in Blacktown.

we had our wedding there and it was excellent. we booked in late 2004 for our 2006 wedding so we got a pretty good deal (before prices we up slightly) and got heaps of inclusions like cake, dj, mc, canapes, anti pasto etc

the pics are from their website, so its not set up for a wedding as such

Hey Butterflygirl
Where abouts are you thinking in Sydney? Sometimes friday weddings can reduce the price.
the Docksidegroup offer some great prices for lunch and dinner packages...

Cocktail receptions can also bring the price down heaps, or particular months...we got a 10% discount for having it in January.

You could also try restaurants that have function rooms, rather than places which just do functions.

I think basically, the closer you get to the city, the more expensive it is!

Can you let us know what you consider to be cheap? Some might say $100 a head, others $60 a head.

A lunch time reception will almost always reduce your prices.

We are paying $90 a head for an excellent all inclusive package with Dockside, even the DJ, cake, wedding night accommodation and getaway car are included.

Boronia Grove at Epping offers packages starting at $66 for a two course meal as well.

We've booked ours at the Windsor Function Centre, and its costing us $60 a head for a 3 course meal + 3 hours of alcohol from the bar. Look around for Expo specials (thats how we got our deal) and they'll usually throw in your cake, some decorations, an extra hour and ask for services they recommend. IE we booked our DJ through the reception place and got a discount.

Cheers

Jules

Also try looking at something other than Sat. Night. We saved $30/head just by having it on a Sunday instead of Sat. night.

I know that Lachlans Old Government House in Parramatta does High Teas, Brunches and Cocktail parties that would fit in that budget, and it's a beautiful location. smile.gif Have a look here.

We had our reception at Victoria House at Bexley. They were very very reasonable. And cheaper on Sundays and Lunchtimes...

There is a link on the front page of our webpage (link to that in sig)

We paid about $65 per head for hor d'ouvres, 3 course meal, drinks package, DJ, table decs etc.
