Just something I've been thinking about lately.
Would anyone be interested in an I-do book club? I was thinking we could see who wants to join, choose a book to read and then meet back here after a certain amount of time to discuss it? What do you think? Any ideas of ways we could do this are welcome! -------------------- Piper 08/12/12 Scooby 08/04/13 Playing together on Rainbow Bridge |

Oh yay! Excitement!
Okay, well maybe we could leave it til next week to give people time to sign up, then vote on a book? What do you think? We could wait til everyone has the book before we start the reading time. How long do u think would be good to read it in? One week, 2 weeks, a month? I can read a book in a couple of days but I have a lot of spare time. 1. Piperdee 2. Almost Mrs-to-Be 3. Ren76 4. I've had a look at the Oprah bookclubs before and they have a reading plan where you read a certain amount of chapters and then discuss, would we be doing something similar? I'm happy to read anything as long as its not technical war books like hubby reads! -------------------- Finally making the break and moving on to a troll free environment. Absolutely, the more the merrier!
Okay well how about say next Friday we see how many members we have and decide on a book? If anyone has any suggestions then start throwing them in now! I'm not sure if we'd go chapters or the whole book, it will probably depend on the length I suppose. -------------------- Piper 08/12/12 Scooby 08/04/13 Playing together on Rainbow Bridge |

im happy to join...as long as i dont have to read harry potter I'd love to join in too. I've made a resolution to read six new books over the next six months. I have a book club with my girlfriends. We were reading a book in six weeks, but that was too long. I'd forgotten what the book was about by then. I like the idea of reading a few chapters a week and talking about it, that way it doesn't spoil it by talking beyond that point in the book for others. 1. Piperdee 2. Almost Mrs-to-Be 3. Ren76 4. Just been looking on the Oprah website, heres a list of the books they have discussed, it might help us choose one
The Top 100 website could be worth a look too Telle you should definitely give the Harry Potter books a try! -------------------- Finally making the break and moving on to a troll free environment. My 'social circle' can find me in a happier place or Facebook :). |
