Just something I've been thinking about lately. smile.gif

Would anyone be interested in an I-do book club? I was thinking we could see who wants to join, choose a book to read and then meet back here after a certain amount of time to discuss it?

What do you think? Any ideas of ways we could do this are welcome!

ME to . I am super keen ! As long as we make sure that we can buy the books from online sellers and allow enough time for delivery and then to read , as we don't have a local bookshop sad.gif

Oh yay! Excitement!

Okay, well maybe we could leave it til next week to give people time to sign up, then vote on a book? What do you think? We could wait til everyone has the book before we start the reading time. How long do u think would be good to read it in? One week, 2 weeks, a month? I can read a book in a couple of days but I have a lot of spare time.

I tend to read books pretty quickly too (lots of night time reading and tiredness in the morning!). I've had a look at the Oprah bookclubs before and they have a reading plan where you read a certain amount of chapters and then discuss, would we be doing something similar? I'm happy to read anything as long as its not technical war books like hubby reads!

The first book could be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! laugh.gif I suspect there will be a few people reading that at the moment!

Absolutely, the more the merrier!

Okay well how about say next Friday we see how many members we have and decide on a book? If anyone has any suggestions then start throwing them in now!

I'm not sure if we'd go chapters or the whole book, it will probably depend on the length I suppose.

laugh.gif Me too. tongue.gif Sorry Bruce. I haven't read any of the others either. I want to one day though.

I'd love to join in too. I've made a resolution to read six new books over the next six months.

I have a book club with my girlfriends. We were reading a book in six weeks, but that was too long. I'd forgotten what the book was about by then. I like the idea of reading a few chapters a week and talking about it, that way it doesn't spoil it by talking beyond that point in the book for others.

Just been looking on the Oprah website, heres a list of the books they have discussed, it might help us choose one smile.gif .

The Top 100 website could be worth a look too smile.gif .

Telle you should definitely give the Harry Potter books a try!
