Yay!! Such great news from everyone smile.gif

My exciting news is that we got our first lot of plans for our house yesterday and there was a job advertised on the weekend that has my name all over it tongue.gif

Am working on the application, but really trying not to get too exciting about it.

QUOTE(Puggie @ May 30 2009, 08:06 PM) *

I had a call a few minutes ago. My personal mentor. Professor in Art and Design and just about the best lecturer I have ever known...

He is heading overseas for a month to London to chair a conference, and he is hunting for someone to replace his lectures while he's away.

He's a very highly regarded lecturer in his field (in QLD). AND HE'S ASKED ME TO APPROACH MY FACULTY to see if they will release me for a month to attend his classes while he is away!!!!! As in a cross-institutional transfer!

I would be paid handsomely. And have inner city accommodation, such as it is, provided (suitable for Tockie, too). It would only be undergrad teaching - so nice and easy. And it would only be for a month....

Whether I go or not, I am THRILLED that the lecturer I think of as 'GOD' would even consider me as a replacement for a few weeks.... I still think of this guy as the *ants pants* in terms of design AND lecturing!

I SO want to do it!!!! Wondering the best angle to present it to my faculty????

SO - that's me. What about your exciting and happy news???????

Dear god, please let it not be my uni, or discipline.

Well done Amy! That's just fabulous news smile.gif You're such a clever duck. You must be thrilled.

e-liz, I'm so envious that you are working towards doing something you love. Pass some of that energy my way please smile.gif You'll be a fabulous doula *making mental note*

Wow Squidge that's great news! Off to have a peek now.

Happy Birthday Vik!

Congratulations Choc-Chip! That's lovely news. Now, to pick a name smile.gif

Riss, I'm not sure what's going on with you at the moment, but that's the second negative post I've read of yours today. Hope everything is OK. unsure.gif

Well my news is that I've finally decided to get off my butt and change jobs, careers even. Hubby and I have thrown caution to the wind and he's applied for a bunch of jobs all over the world. I'm leaving my future in the hands of fate, but something tells me I'm going back to full time Uni, which will be amazing. I'd love to teach one day wub.gif

Wow! So much exciting news! Great thread Amy!

Well I'm just excited because we finally made up our mind about a new car seat for Liam for when Sprout arrives in August, and I placed the order today! Liam's new seat - the new SNS Maxi Rider AHR - arrives mid-next week. biggrin.gif And as an added bonus, I got $80 off the RRP and free delivery - gotta be happy with that!
