The thing is Em, and I know this will sound totally whack to some but I LOVE washing, seriously love it so I figure I'm not working, have no plans to even in the mid future so I would have the time. I don't think it would be a problem with DH< I think he would support me especially if it meant more $$$ in our pockets and Mum is the only other one to change Nina's nappy (Pa and uncle seem to disappear very quickly) and I'm sure she would be fine. I'd like to know what initial outlay would be so I can do some sums.
The only other thing I would have to consider would be Nina's sensitive skin, I don't know how it would go with cloth -------------------- |

Summa - lol at your reaction to the hair straightener. What do you do with so many? It sounds like Lil had a great time at the beach. And don't worry about the sand, it just goes straight through. I just sit there and look at them, I only have one out of its box that I use (the purple one with flowers on it). They are selling for soo much money on EBay now the purple ones I wish I hadn't used it! Oh well. That is great news about the job!! I really hope you get it. Monica, you are crazy girl! I hate washing! I do two loads a day and that is enough for me. Bee, good to see Chels likes solids. Lil LOVES pumpkin, but it stains everything. I have to spray stain remover on all her bibs and clothes once she has eaten it. -------------------- |

Well we had Physio. Ry's feet are still turning in. So next monday its PLASTER It sounds like he's going to have the coolest plaster legs ever! How long does he have to keep them on for? We got back from Noosa this arvo. I so didn't want to come home. It was lovely. Took Lil to the beach yesterday for the first time, she had a great time. We sat her in the water for a bit and then she sat in the sand for a bit and ate some! Yuck! I love it up there sooo much. I had my hair done on Friday and guess what, hubby suprised me with the new baby pink GHD hair straightner!! I am obsessed with them, I now have one in EVERY colour they have every bought out - YAY!! I am not going to use it, just leave it in its box and look at it. Ohhh...what a great holiday, i'm so jealous! What do you do with all those GHD's? Do you have a different one for every day of the week? Crazy...some people have shoe fetishes, you have a GHD one Amy - it sounds like your DH has some serious making up to do! Hope you make him work for it. Next week DS turns five months and I think it's time to try solids again. I'm also going to close up the milky-bar. I'm sad about that but it means I can go back on the pill again and start eating onions and cabbage once more, I've missed those. In other news, I've been put forward for a part time job in my old company. I sent through my CV on Friday and apparently I'm a serious contender. I'm really excited because it means if I get it, I can keep all my benefits and I already am familiar with things so I won't have to learn a whole new company with a little bubba. Wow Nep, lots happening with you! Thanks for that link...there are a lot of blue seats on that page, can you be a little more specific? You have done so well to get to five months of b/feeding. I know that it's been hard for you, and you come through shining, really. Congratulations!!! Fingers crossed for your new job- sounds perfect! All this cloth nappy talk has got me thinking about it, seriously What sort of price are we talking for brand new one's? I pay $25 per nappy from Baby BeeHinds for an All-in-One with velcro (basically a disposable nappy style, but cloth). How many would you go through a day? Probably about 5-6? We still use 'sposies when we go out and about and sometimes a night Would you buy a week's worth straight up or just a few days? I only have about 13 of them, and wash every day. I wouldn't say that you need a week's worth straight up, but a few days and get a feel for what you like and what you don't, before investing in a large bunch. You also want to decide how often you want to be washing We LOVE using cloth. Will never has nappy rash, he has cute, bright colours on his bum, and they are just really really easy. I also keep up more with my washing- i'm forced to wash everyday now, so while i'm in there i also do DH's workshirts & other misc bits. So i think i'm taking my old job back Oh, and i've just read the posts that have sprung up since i started typing- Emma, i would have kicked my DH in the pants if he'd refused to use them. What, it's easier to put a nappy in the bin than in a nappy bucket? Should be all the same to him... -------------------- |

Monica, sorry to hear about your sister. She will grow up one day. And your SIL... well she can just keep her nose out of your business. She’s irresponsible if you ask me, and you are a fantastic Mum!
Alan took about a week to get used to the Farex. All he did for that first week was spit it out... I don’t think much of it got to his belly. Alana, we don’t have any problems with ours. It goes around whenever we push it. Alan’s legs aren’t strong enough to do it himself yet. The screws were a pain in the butt too to get in properly. I gave up and Nathan did it. Emma, I hope Scott gets better soon! Summa, that’s funny... ‘just leave it in its box and look at it’. I love my GHD... my latest is the purple one with flowers that came out at Christmas time last year. Neph, that sounds great about the job! I hope you get it. Well done on the 5 months of feeding too! Amy, good luck on returning to work... I’m sure you’ll work it out and it will all run smoothly for you. Well we are back from our weekend to Rockhampton. The IL’s are here tonight and tomorrow night... they drove back with us because they have some business in Brissy over the next few days. Solids – Alan is eating his Farex really well in the mornings. Tomorrow I am going to mix in some pear that I pureed last week and froze. I’m also going to introduce yoghurt for lunch sometime this week. -------------------- |

Amy - the cast lasts a week, after a week back to the hospital to decide on having another week of another set etc. After the casts i think we go to night splints. -------------------- |

Happy 5 months Will & Nina
I'm amazed we're at 5 mths already. I'm really enjoying this age, its so lovely. DS rolls over & then looks for me & smiles. I love it! (could only be better if he slept through the night I'm thinking i might visit the baby show on friday. DS & I don't have any plans so might go for a looksy. Mon i'm pretty sure there will be lots of cloth nappy info there if your interested in attending the show. I use cloth part time too, i use a mixture of Green kids, bumgenius & baby beehinds. I like the sized nappies better as they are a trimmer fit, particularly under clothes. I don't find there's much of a difference between the bumgenius & the baby beehinds, but the baby beehinds are cheaper so i would go for those in preference. I only have 8 nappies & either every day or every 2nd day. I don't think you'd want to leave the nappies any longer than 2 days, it'd get a bit smelly. The greenkids are good in that they will supposedly fit until 2 years old - but they are bulky on DS' little bum at this age. He looks like he has a huge bum when he wears them, but the upside is not having to buy the next size up. If you want a good car seat, I'd highly recommend the one we got - it's reasonably priced and DS looks very comfy in it. See here: http://www.ingoodcare.com.au/igc/pages/car_seats.php We got the blue one and it cost $270 from mybabywarehouse.com.au (although I just checked and they don't have any in stock). We have the deluxe red in DH's car I didn't even know they stocked it but i saw it in store last month when they had their big baby sale Rikki - good luck with the op. Hope its quick & painless for you xx |

I'm really considering the offer. I've got the weekend to think about it, but i love my job, and my manager, the extra $$ would be nice, and if i could work from home..... being away from Will two days a week means i won't miss out on too much stuff, and i can still b/feed. They are currently looking to hire a Saturday receptionist as well, so i'm thinking maybe i can get that position as well, and do my job whilst also doing Sat reception, thereby being able to leave William with DH on the weekend, and then only have to rely on family one day a week? The more i think about it, the more i like it Sounds great Amy I'm heading back to work in Nov. I'm doing one day a week in the office & one day from home. MIL is going to look after DS on the day i'm in the office. I'm looking forward to it too & hopefully won't mess with my supply too much so i can keep BF'ing DS. It'll be nice to have that one day a week when i get to remember the pre mummy me. I need to drop a few kgs before then though, i don't fit into any of my work clothes |
