First anniversary presents are "paper" so if you just give a card, that counts biggrin.gif

I was thinking that too actually, but wasn't sure if I was just being cheapo laugh.gif We're looking for a nice restaurant in Melbourne city, although there's always the restaurant nearby where we got engaged too.

Ooh your anniversary plans sound great Jo! For our first wedding anniversary Dave and I stayed at the Hilton in Sydney in a relaxation suite... we spent most of it in the beautiful bath looking over the city! Bliss!

Jo, that sounds totally glorious!

Hubby and I spent a night in the Blue Mountains in a beautiful B&B overlooking The Three Sisters - usually! It rained so much and the clouds were so low we didn't even see across the road at the front of the house most of the time. But the room came with a very big spa and a gas fireplace so we enjoyed that instead!

This thread gives me the warm and fuzzies smile.gif

We spent our first wedding anniveresary in Hawaii smile.gif It was beautiful and I want to go back. Actually I just want to not work and be on a permanent holiday with a permanent supply of money... Think I need a second/third/fourth husband!

We're in the process of planning our 2nd anniversary and I'm stumped for ideas so I'm thinking of stealing some of yours tongue.gif

Congratulations to you Jo! I hope that your anniversary is as glorious as the venues sound wink.gif

As for our first anniversary, it was a little hard to plan much as my brother got married the day before but Steve proposed on top of the Rialto, so we went back and stayed at the hotel which is absolutely beautiful. We visited the tower where he proposed, we ate in Lygon St., got my eternity ring and visited things like the zoo: just enjoying each other's company.

It's our third wedding anniversary on the 8th (next week) but there's nothing much we can plan with a (nearly) 7 month old baby! Hopefully we can go to a restaurant, just the two of us. smile.gif

Like Kell, I can barely remember number 1 - that's what happens when your into your 7th year of marriage!!! I know I bought hubby some expensive books, but can't remember what he bought me (if anything!! laugh.gif )

We decided every 5 years is going to be special. We spent #5 in Tasmania, but I was spoilt for number 6 too - we were in the Cook Islands for a wedding and I received my eternity ring!! Number 10 falls around the time of the Rugby World Cup, so it might involve a trip to NZ!!!

btw Jo, I think you and Richard are in for a truly beautiful anniversary!

We spent a weekend in Daylesford for our 1st anniversary & then we went to a gorgeous local restaurant on the actual night as well.

I got hubby one of those astrology stars done in our name for him as his pressie. He loved it.

I spent my first anniversary alone, so we will be making up for it this year. We will be staying in the same hotel room we did on our wedding night and making a special night of it. Fingers crossed he will actually be here for our 2nd anniversary dry.gif

Just as I hit "post" for this thread, hubby comes out of the bedroom and says not to come in as he is doing some wrapping. Hmm I wonder what he's got me! I managed to get a few paper themed things for hubby, such as an iTunes voucher, scratchies and a new Melways laugh.gif Oh well, they are paper! I also bought three heart shaped chocolates which weren't quite in our wedding colours, but similar ones to what we had as our bonbonniere. I also found a gift bag with the exact same thing on it, heart shaped chocs biggrin.gif I then bought a half bottle of Moet, our fave champers for special occassions.

We are also going on a picnic tomorrow for lunch and making use of a picnic set we were given for our engagement which will be nice. We bought a vienna loaf of bread, a hot chicken, some salads, avocado, drink and we will also take along some of the top toer of our wedding cake wub.gif We will save the other half for the christening of our first baby smile.gif

We tried to book in to the restaurant we got engaged in, but they won't be open tomorrow, so we chose another nice Italian restaurant biggrin.gif

Well we had a lovely day smile.gif He went to Mass in the morning and came back with a big bunch of beautiful roses and some chocolates for me wub.gif then we exchanged gifts. He got me some iSubscribe vouchers and a bookshop voucher biggrin.gif The iSubscribe one sounds awesome, because you go to the website and you can choose to subscribe to one of many magazines from around the world! Great idea hubby!

Then we packed up our lunch things and set off for the beautiful Cape Schanck, which is down the end on the Mornington Peninsula. It was very busy since it was such a nice day, but we found a little picnic table away from everyone else and sat down to eat our yummy lunch. Then we cut some of our top tier of wedding cake, which we'd sawed in half after much effort the night before with an electric knife laugh.gif It was delicious! biggrin.gif Cherry Ripe Mud flavour, mmmmm. Very rich though! We then went on a tour of the historic lighthouse which was fascinating, and climbed to the top of it and went outside and almost got blown away by the view, and the wind laugh.gif It was just gorgeous! We then explored the museum nearby, then did the scenic boardwalk down to the ocean and had a walk amongst the rock pools. We then made our way back up the boardwalk (I can really feel my calves this morning LOL) and off home to watch the rest of the cricket laugh.gif

We went out for dinner at a nice Italian restaurant and shared a half bottle of Moet wink.gif One of the waiters burst in to song (in Italian!) every so often which was funny, including "That's Amore" biggrin.gif When we got home we watched our wedding video, read and replied to congrats SMS's from our Best Man and MOH, then we went to bed and......you can probably guess the rest laugh.gif ph34r.gif tongue.gif

A very nice day indeed!
