Alexander has not poo'd since Friday 10am.
He is primarily breastfed with EBM top ups after feeds and he has been also having FF top ups after feeds when I dont have enough breastmilk due to slow weight gain. He started out pooing every nappy and then it became three times a day for about a week. And then it all just stopped. Please tell me not to worry & that it is normal..... I am slightly freaking out. I can't say I ever wanted to see poo so badly before lmao! I know when he does go it's gonna be huge!!! -------------------- |

I can't say I ever wanted to see poo so badly before lmao! Haha! that is so funny! And I can totally relate! Alexis hasn't poo'd for a couple of days and I was concerned too. Luckily we had an appointment with her Paed and he said to give her about 10 mls of cool boiled water. It did the trick for us. Alexis is completely Formula Fed, but while she was in the special care nursery - i did hear the nurses tell one Mum that it was completely normal for a Breast Fed baby not to poo every day. I hope he poos really really soon! |

Absolutely normal! We were told with BF babies that anything from 1 in 10 days to 10 in 1 day was perfectly fine!

With babies I learnt there is no such thing as normal. As long as he appears to be in no pain and is having enough wet nappies I wouldnt worry at all... he isnt in pain BUT he is still farting lol...... -------------------- |

no poo is not necessarily a bad thing.
baby in pain and straining and still no poo - signs of constipation. baby pooing but they are solid or pellet like - also sign of constipation. if he doesn't seem to be in pain and its not bothering him I wouldn't worry about it. If he is in pain and is straining and not having any luck, then cooled boiled water. if that still doesn't work, half a tsp of brown sugar in cooled boiled water (about 30ml) works a treat! (something we had to do with Smash quite often.) -------------------- |

Ok so he let loose this morning at 8am! It went all through his clothes and bassinet and everywhere. I have never ever seen so much poo EVER! There was so much I think it could have filled a peanut butter jar. LOL......... eww eww and double eww! It was even in his bellybutton - WTF! LOL.. and all over his feet. Needless to say, I had poo everywhere.................................. Oh well..... at least he has gone now. And he settled to sleep straight after it so I guess that could explain the restless night he had last night too. -------------------- |
