Does anyone have a general description of the level of speech ability of an 18 month old? |

Here is one Australian site that talks about language development, including speech.
Hope that helps! -------------------- |

A lot less important than what they say is what they understand. An 18 month old should be pointing and starting to understand 2 stage instructions like pick up your book and put it on the table. Point and grunt is about all I get out of Ethan - closely followed by a tantrum when I don't get/do what he wants immediately. He CAN follow a two stage instruction as long as it is 'pick up your car and go BRRRRRRM with it'! Bless. |
