I dont wear perfume much at all other than when Im going out somewhere special (a rarity these days!) but I do give myself a quick spray with body spray in the mornings. Xander is very sensitive to smell (he gags if I spray fly spray and refused to sleep in his room last night because I had the vicks vaporizer in there rolleyes.gif ) so it took me a long time to find a scent that I could wear without annoying him.
I had a beautiful perfume the DP bought me on one of our first dates...I think it was called Noa. I used the first bottle, begged him to buy me another one and dropped it as soon as I got it home ph34r.gif It smashed into a million pieces and he hasnt bought me another one since sad.gif On the upside, my lounge room carpet smelt beautiful for weeks lol

I didn't vote because none of the answers fitted me. I don't wear perfume unless I am going out but that isn't because I can't be bothered. When you are holdig a baby all day I don't like the idea of strong scents going up their nose. I get hayfever and I know how irritating it is when a certain scent sets me off sneezing. My little boy gets excema too so I would be cautious about whether cosmetics I use might affect him.

When I use perfume or put makeup on my daughter says " Bye Mum" as she knows I'm going out tongue.gif

I will be on maternity leave from next Friday so thought I would answer from then! I wear perfume everyday regardless of whether I go anywhere - it's just part of my routine now.

I have a few that I alternate but my favourite is Hot Couture by Givenchy. Luckily Dad is going overseas next week and can pick me up another bottle duty free as it is getting hard to find!

I'm not a SAHM mum but i thought i would answer anyway from when i was on mat leave. I religiously wore perfume before getting UTD but as soon as morning sickness kicked in my perfume made me want to vomit.

I haven't been able to wear it since dry.gif And its not specific to any particular brand.

This was exactly the same for me. I didn't wear it at all when on mat leave unless, on those very rare occasions, I was out for dinner or something without bubs. I didn't think it was a good idea to inflict such strong smells on her when she was always so close to me.

Because I am so out of the habit of putting it on now, I rarely do, even when going out. I still really only put it on when I am out for dinner or to a function without India.

I stopped wearing most of my perfume due to a combination of morning sickness and my boss at work having a sensitivity to strong perfumes!

Now being on mat leave, I just use my deoderant body spray - I dont like the idea of bub having to breathe in a lot of strong scent. If we are going out somewhere special, I do a very light spray behind my neck..

Generally only when I'm going out, but sometimes I put it on just because I feel like it or if hubby has been extra good I put it on because I know he likes it!

That's me too! I seriously can't wear any kind of perfume cause the thought of it makes me gag. I actually threw away quite a few expensive bottles after a couple of years as I knew I wouldn't wear them. Also, I can't stand it if DH wears any kind of aftershave anymore.

Occasionally I'll get a whiff of someone and think how nice it is, but rarely.

I wonder if I'll be able to tolerate it again one day????

I used to wear it everyday, I have quite a collection and depending on my mood I would choose what scent I was wearing that day, everyone at work had their favourites with my perfumes blush.gif

Now I don't bother unless I'm going out and even then I forget most of the time. I would hate to waste my perfume by wearing it around the house when i don't see anyone. When I'm going to the shops, I'll spray on my cheapie stuff on my wrists. I don't put it on my neck as I think it's too close for Charli when she's in her baby bjorn.

I wanted Sarah to associate a certain scent with me, but DH buys me a new one for every occassion, and I forget to use it! tongue.gif

You just reminded me - my Mum used to wear TABU religiously. To this day, it makes me think of her. (not that you smell it much these days)

I have a massive collection of perfumes (mostly sent to me at work) moldering on a couple of shelves in a cupboard. I used to use it as a fragrance 'wardrobe' and wear a different one every day, but when I had Gwen I stopped using it at all for a while.

Basically I had some ideas about bonding and BF and that she should get used to my own smell, not something out of a bottle. I have no idea if my vague ideas had any validity! tongue.gif

Anyway, I now just use the one perfume, but only if I'm going out somewhere. The others will all go off over the next year or so - ah well. sad.gif

Not quite a SAHM yet, but I haven't been working out of the house for 12 months, so I think I still qualify to answer smile.gif

I don't wear perfume any more or any less than when I was working. I've just never really been a dedicated perfume wearer. Sometimes if I think of it I'll put it on, most of the time, I won't.

Definately couldn't wear it in the first few months of pregnancy, any kind of 'artificial' scent was awful (also in cosmetics, hubby's deodorant, cleaning products, etc).

When I do wear perfume, my favourites would be Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren Romance and La Prairie Silver Rain. Most of my bottles of these are years old and way more than half full, if that's some indication of how much I wear it.

sometimes if I'm meeting someone, and my wedding perfume

I prefer not to every day because I wouldn't want my daughter to be exposed to too many strong scents. I REALLY notice if she's cuddled by someone who's wearing perfume, and I don't like it. ph34r.gif
