this is lame of me, but i already have all my stationary printed up.. We ran through it all before we printed, and everything is all organised. it only cost me $30 for all my stationary, which is 18 invites (3 per page), 20 rsvps (4 per page), 20 thank-yous (4 per page with space to write addresses, and thank u message), 54 place cards, 54 thank-u tags for favours.. I designed the invites myself, and am quite proud..

invite front

invite back - wording (location blacked out due to certain people net stalking me trying to find out and tell people i dont want there)

Im having red converse sneakers for my wedding shoes.. I dont like heels and its my wedding.. LMAO

Your invites are fabulous, they look very professional, I would be proud too!

Red sneakers is a cool twist. The day has to reflect you, so go with what feels right I say!

Hey everyone. We recently changed our wedding date to 20-10-2010. So we'll be married in October.
We haven't booked or bought anything, and we've been engaged for 2 years. blink.gif We might be in a bit of trouble!!

I am excited, we are finally going wedding dress shopping on Saturday. This will be the 2nd time i've been out looking. I know i'm running out of time but I have been trying so very hard to drop the excess baby weight!!

cobie1987 - Red sneakers are AWESOME! I have to wear flats for a while at mine, as we're trekking into the rainforest. I will throw heals on (if i can) while we have the ceremony and back at the reception. I want to be at least eye level with my man!
Also well done on getting stationary done! I have ordered samples from America as I wanted to DIY pocket tri-folds and couldn't find the blasted things over here. Hoping that they are what I wanted!

Anyone else doing 20-10-2010??

I think we've decided on the location, just a matter of putting the money down. Best thing is, we've already saved our entire budget! It's just sitting an a bank account accumulating interest. tongue.gif

Hi all,

so, we had our engagement party a few weeks ago. Was so much fun, really got me excited for the day! Nice to get all the friends and family together.

At the moment just trying to juggle the finances! Sure you all know how that is! We were supposed to pay the deposit for the honeymoon last week, but we have to leave it for now. We want to go to Hawaii for two weeks. Anyone else know what they are doing for honeymoon? We now have to wait and see what is affordable closer to the time I think.

Found out I can pick my dress up in May which is also very excited! I can hardly remember what it looks like now.

Had a meeting with thr Reverend last night, was nice to go back to the church to get the feel. We decided to get the organist for the church and play the old "here comes the bride" song, as they were having organ practice on the night and it sounded awesome in the old chrch.

How is everyone elses planning going???

So far we've booked the reception, the ceremony church, picked our photo locations, booked transport, booked photography and I've finally decided on the bridesmaid dresses.

I started out insisting on blue, now its changed to light gold. To save costs, i've decided to DIY for the following: bridesmaid dresses (my mother, who is a maker for Cooper St is making them), make up, hairdressing for 3 bridesmaids (hair is too curly or too short for a hairdresser to be useful) and - only recently - flowers.

What colour are your bouquets going to be and which flowers will you be using that are definately going to be available in October?

Gold will be lovely, do you know what kind of colours you will do for your reception and invites etc?

DIY all of that, wow , you are brave! Good thing is you can play around with the hair (and even try flowers) before the big day.

I am having Anenome's, white with a black centre (as my bridesmaids are in Black)

IPB Image

(tried to attached an image... not sure I did it correctly!)

Yes I did check they are available in October.

I may have a few other white flowers as a bit of a filler on mine too. Black ribbon on the BM'
s and ivory ribbon around mine.

There are SO many beautiful flowers around in Spring. Do you have any thoughts or ideas?

I'm lost with flowers... I really am! I my colours are white, black and red. I originally wanted red tulips and roses, but it's "too bold". Then I wanted all white. But it's "too plain" and red + white bouquets look like polka dots. Eeep! Scary!
The anenome's are very different! Not sure if i like them or not just yet. They're very pretty thought!
My favourite flowers are david austin roses, peonies and tulips. They'll look great together, in the right colours!

Kay, your BMs are going to be stunning. Those Anenomes will look perfect with black! I didn't think about ribbons but that's a good idea to keep the bouquets neat looking. I'm going to do the same for mine now.

I was deciding between 'matching' colours of white and beige/gold or 'contrasting' colours of red and pink and decided for the contrasting because I'm thinking that in October, there will still be more green than colour (am I incorrect in thinking that? I don't know much about flowers) so I wanted some colour for the photos we are taking in the garden. My colour theme goes out the window though, it's changed so many times - from white, blue and purple to black, light gold and ivory now to light gold, red and pink. Or can I keep the black, light gold and ivory theme and still have red and pink flowers?

David Austin roses are gorgeous! My wedding date is too early for them though because I think they become available from mid to late October.

I think you can have contrasting flowers for sure. It is spring after all! I have never been to a wedding where I have gone "Wow, those flowers don't match!" and I have been to a few weddings now. I think get what you love.

Fae Spring Bride- you can even go with subtle coulrs, paler shades that might not be so bold as the reds, but still in the flowers you love. You can get flowers in pretty much any shade or tone you want these days.

Newbie to the forum here! Wedding date 24/10/10! YAY! You guys seem to have organised so much already.
I've booked ceremony location, reception location, photographer, celebrant and I have my dress. That's pretty much it.
I do know what I want for most other things though. I just need to actually do it.
It's pretty exciting.

Welcome baloo! Yay, another October 2010 twinnie! I'm finding it exciting too... and stressful, but in an exciting sort of way smile.gif

Actually, speaking of stress, even though we've got about six months ahead to keep planning (and saving, for some of us) are any of you finding that you're waking up at 3am in the morning after dreaming about wedding planning details? Maybe it's just me... I used to wake up at 3am dreaming about my task list for work! That's stress for ya.

I think for me, its the financial worries which are the biggest cause of my stress. If I had an endless budget for this wedding, I can't imagine being worried about anything. Anyone else worrying about the wedding budget too at this six month point?

Emmyzilla... Trust me when I say I know what your going through! All FH ever says is, "is it in the budget?" *sigh*
We're lucky, we have our budget sitting there. No need to save for it anymore. I still want to save 'x' amount a week towards it but with the 2 children and a mortgage it's pretty impossible. But we're already working on $3000 over budget with 'quotes'. So I have had to comprimise a lot on what I want to stay under budget. It's getting tiresome and trying so hard to DIY everything on the cheap. So far I've ordered my gown from the US, getting it altered by my grandma, getting silks from the local lady in the wedding store, having the ceremony in the rainforest (no decoration needed!) blah blah blah...
LOL!
Sorry I didn't want to rant on there. Our bonboneirs were bought last year! We bought 10 cases of clean skin wines (they were divine!) at about $30 a box. They're going to also double as place cards. I'll make my own labels to go on them, with our monogram and stuff. Then going to make a little 'necklace' type thing around them with ribbon and a circle of paper with their names on it. Should look ok. Cheap as piss centerpeices as we're going to through a heap of branches into a vase and hang tealights and beads/gems off them. Then lots and lots of pillar candles, mirrors and then rose petals.
IF you haven't bought them yet look here first!
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2400pc-RED-Silk-Ros...=item4839324f63
Yup... 2400 rose petals for like $13.
